✨77 Showdown 2026🤠 ✨

So grateful to set for such an awesome event, even more for the amazing team I set with! So awesome to see the most collaborating on each climb I’ve experienced setting for a citizen comp, hope to see this more in the future. Here’s some of my favorites I worked on this week

🖤 - Beginner ~ V2
Simple climb with alot of new movement for the beginner climber, rewarding when you take the path of least resistance

🩷 - women’s open/adv ~ V6/7
A classic laché (kinda), fast 1-2 into a very slow and delicate finish.

💙 - men’s open ~ V8/9
One of my personal favs. Unfortunately could not stay up after open qualifiers since it interfered with a boulder for the next day so no vid :/ very happy with the performance as one competitor topped and almost all zoned. Only difference next time would be to move zone to the light gray panel as a tiptoe for better separation. But there’s always smth you want to change after the fact🙇‍♂️ (btw 4 routesetters got this to the spot it ended up as👌)

Anyways thank you @goatclimbinggym for the opportunity🙏🏻

Let’s give a warm welcome to our 77 Showdown setting team! Starting off with our guest setters, we have *drum roll please*
Slide 1: Adriana Jacobsen @adrianaj_13 (she/her) hailing from Metrorock Everett as former head setter, but now works for the Boston metro authority!
Slide 2: Britt Booth @idratherbe___ (she/her) is bringing the chill from Chicago, where she is the head setter and comp coordinator at First Ascent. If you’ve heard of Midwest Mayhem, you know Britt!
Slide 3: A.B. Cancian @nbroutesetter (they/them) is a comp setter and equally impressive comp climber from the Midwest!
Getting into our house crew now…
Slide 4: Chris St. Pierre @mantledyno (him/his) just joined the GOAT team officially since he was head setter at Metrorock Bushwick. He’s set for us many times before, but he’s sticking around after this one!
Slide 5: Matt Dizon @matts_offthewall (him/his) may have joined the VITAL Brooklyn setting team few months ago, but he’s back for the Showdown!
Slide 6: Dontese Cocchio @dc_sets (him/his) has officially been with us since the summer, but this is his second Showdown in a row with us!
Slide 7: Liam Conroy @mediocre_sets (him/his) last but not least - Liam is back! If you’re an OG Goat, you remember his sets, and he’s been awesome to have him back on the team!
Not shown: Head Coach Chris T (they/them) & Head Setter Blake @se_routesetter (him/his)- These two have been hard at work planning & prepping logistics, finals format, and planning for the big new finals stage we hope you come spectate!

We will have cans from Hackensack Brewing @hackensackbrewing to enjoy during finals (21+ with ID).

Our NEW mats on our rope terrain walls are a unique chance to boulder on our rope walls! This is the only time you can, because we are stripping the citizen’s boulders for finals!

Yesterday’s slab set: 🟢⚫️🟡
It was a minimalist set, as we are saving resources for comp next month’s comp.
Plus a banger from @matts_offthewall
