Arctic hotel - Yac competition
Gold mention

2021, Rovaniemi, Finland
Collaborator: Arianna Boccalatte

This proposal for the “Arctic Landscape Hotel” consists
of 3 independent hotel units scattered in the forest.
From the parking area an organic walking path connect
them to each other, and all of them to the existing
Ounasvaara winter trail.
Each unit has a circular shape that protects a central
void. At its heart, a bonfire heats the public while the
night rises and the aurora borealis are about to begin.
Under the black circular roof, two types of bedrooms
offer peacefulness and warmth to nature and sport
lovers, overlooking the pine forest. A common kitchen
and dining room and a Sauna complete the unit to
welcome the guests.

Appena ricevuto.

Just received.
Truly delighted with this wonderful gift: a precious book, with a simple yet refined design, of absolute craftsmanship quality (as few are these days). A new piece that will enrich my collection.
But the greatest gift was taking part in this publishing project. And for this, I am truly grateful to Matteo Foresti, who involved me from the very start.
We’ve been apart for too long, but luckily, we’ve never stopped sharing our passion for architecture. And this experience allowed me to get to know his work much more closely, through the beautiful photographs by Erik Lefvander, Leonardo Finotti, Åke E:son Lindman, Renée Kemps, and João Morgado.
