I need to give a shout-out to my friends over at @final.rise . When @carlyoungv and @matthew.b.davis reached out to me a few months ago about another vest, I requested the minimal setup of the Sidekick, with the blaze orange. I already had one in the ranger/brown color, but I wanted a system that would work for the cocker field trials. This unit was perfect.

It was quite warm and humid in North Dakota... and this vest allowed me to carry plenty of water, and wear a shirt that allowed ventilation. In Wisconsin, it was rainy and cool. I could pack a rain jacket in the game pocket, along with all my other goodies that I carry for trials.

I really appreciate having a relationship with a company that cares about their customers, and makes quality products right here in the USA! I've enjoyed the ride with Final Rise, and will continue to give them my support!!

Dice says that the color of blue goes well with the ranger/blaze vest!!

Hi, I’m the face behind From the Field.

I’m a wife, mom and someone who’s always felt most at home outside.

Since becoming a mom, my outdoor adventures look a little bit different. We have a tiny person along for the ride now. Which has made me slow down notice the details. I imagine seeing things from her view for the first time, through those big wondering eyes.
The tracks In the dirt, the changing colors, feathers from a bird, so easily walked by in the past, mean a bit more now.

I’m a creative person at heart, I love making things with my hands. From the Field comes from wanting to bring both of these parts of my life together. Creating from the places we visit.
Inspired by the hunting trips, family horse rides, animals we pursue.

I’m still figuring this out as I go, it’s part of the reason I have started sharing. So I can look back and be reminded of how far I have come and share the beauty of creating something I’m passionate about.

So this is the beginning of From the Field. Alittle bit of family, a lot of time outside, and hopfully some beautifully made things along the way.
Thanks for being here.

Trevor sits down with Matt Mantell, Stefan Brown and Matt Davis to recap their fly fishing trip deep in remote Alaska.

They talk about traveling by bush plane and helicopter to reach the lodge, learning the river, catching rainbows, grayling and dollies, and waiting several days for the salmon run to finally reach them. Once the salmon showed up, the entire trip changed.

The group also shares their favorite catches, what it was like experiencing Alaska together, and some of the lessons they took away about saying yes to opportunities, pushing through fear and surrounding yourself with the right people

Finally made it to one of my all time dream locations. What an unreal experience. Nothing beats taking in Alaska with some of the best people you could ask to be around.

Getting to follow @trevorfarnes around with a camera for the past 8 months has been one of the best learning experiences of my life. Learning from him and the people he surrounds himself with has changed the way I see a lot of things.

Really grateful for the opportunities with @mtnops and for the content we get to create.

Till the next trip! 🙌

Beckham was a last minute addition to our Alaska trip after a spot opened up, but truthfully, he’s always one of the first people on my mind when an opportunity like this comes along.

Before we left, I told him, “Some dads want to go without their kids. For me, I want you by my side for all the adventures we can possibly go on together.” The same is true of each of my children, and definitely of my wife.

One of the greatest blessings of this trip wasn’t just the fishing. It was watching Beckham be surrounded by incredible men. Men of faith. Men of character. Men who love their families and love God. The kind of examples every young man needs. Young men need as many heroes close to home as they can possibly have. Thanks to these men who made Beckham feel welcome and loved.

As we spent our days on the river, one scripture of a father speaking to his son kept coming to my mind:

“O that thou mightest be like unto this river, continually running into the fountain of all righteousness.” (1 Nephi 2:9)

This is the same counsel I would give to Beckham:

Be like that river. Continually. Consistently. With purpose. With discipline. Keep flowing toward the Fountain of all righteousness, Jesus Christ.

He is the source of strength when we’re weak, peace when life gets heavy, hope when the path isn’t clear, and love that never runs dry. He truly is the fountain of every blessing.

Beckham is as good as they come. I am so proud of him. He brings me joy. I hope he becomes a great fisherman and a fisher of men, a devoted husband, a loving father, and a faithful leader. I’m confident he will.

But beyond all of that, my greatest hope for him, through every chapter of life and every responsibility he will carry, is to be like this river and keep flowing toward Christ.

So proud to be a part of this business... since their start. To see how far y'all have come... just shows the quality and commitment of the products you are putting on the market.

I really appreciate the upgrade in the Sidekick vest. I have one Sidekick and an original Summit, without any orange. This new Sidekick will fit the bill for what I'm needing to wear, while running my cockers in field trials... as well as some hunting situations.

A big thank you to Matt and Carl for the upgrade, and making me feel like an important part of your successful business. I appreciate it, guys!!
