a little preview of an instrumental song i’ve been working on. jamming it out with @matthewdethrow and @coletoanscale. trying to see how i can use travis picking with some different rhythms and feels. this one would be good for a whimsical stroll. #travispicking #thumbpick #fingerstyle

little late night porch jam with old friends, New Orleans players @matthewdethrow and @coletoanscale. Coleman is biking across the country from Oregon to Delaware, so he happened to be passing by our farm. Probably been about ten years since i’ve seen Cole. great player. here’s a little clip of him soloing over a little instrumental tune of mine.

chipping paint, mutt dog, bass fiddle, insanely loud cicadas. chill version of Blue Bell with half time snare. that’s how i hear merle travis songs in my head, not flashy and rockabilly-fied. playing my beautiful @eastmanguitars T64/v. #travispicking #thumbpick #fingerstyle
