Exactly a year ago, I got to be vulnerable, comedic, and so alive as I performed Those Who Remained, in front of sold out audiences as my solo show at La MaMa, after 4 years in the making, came to life. The show focuses on transformation, looking within, finding your roots, confronting, and advocating. A lot is in the works for the next steps, stay tuned! If you want to see the entire show, go here (link in bio) sophiagutchinov.com/solo-show
This is the trailer, brilliantly edited by Matthew Gurren. Thank you for my team of 17 people who made this all possible, including everyone who donated, believed in me, and came to see it.

Such a treat to work on Ghost Light in the New York Theatre Festival this winter! It was lovely to meet new friends and work on original material! Thank you Matt, Pam, the cast, and the staff at the festival! It’s always a blast to play Ethel Merman(see last slide)

GHOST LIGHT 💡
Such an honor to be part of this production. Last weekend, we won Best Production and Best Actor (@pappypavlik) at the New York Theater Festival — a true testament to the hard work that this team put in over a couple short weeks! Thank you all who came out to see it, and congratulations to all the other winners/nominees at the festival. This piece was so much fun — and a welcome “light” in the dark.

Matthew Gurren’s new comedy GHOST LIGHT is on stage February 3 through February 7 at Teatro LATEA as part of the New York Theater Festival.

GHOST LIGHT follows Claire Doyle, a successful but disillusioned film star seeking a return to true acting by joining a Broadway production of a long-forgotten play once headlined by the legendary stage veteran, Ethel Merman. Things take a bizarre turn when the ghost of Merman haunts the theater, determined to sabotage Claire’s performance and protect her legacy.

PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE:
Tuesday, February 3 @ 6:15pm
Friday, February 6 @ 4:00pm
Saturday, February 7 @ 9:00pm

Tickets range from $28 to $48, and are available online at newyorktheaterfestival.com.

Teatro LATEA is located at 107 Suffolk Street on the Lower East Side.

Sarau do @estudio__rosa marcando a inauguração do novo espaço e fechando o ano com muita música, arte e parceria!

Viva a arte! Viva a música! ✨
