It doesn’t start when you hit that goal weight or that career goal.
If you’ve been running yourself into the ground just chasing the next thing on repeat, you might miss it.

Life has been going on ✨all around you✨

Have your goals and work your little tail off (cause being lazy isn’t cute), BUT JUST REMEMBER TO HAVE SOME FUN ON THE WAY UP SIS 😘

Look at the five people you talk to most. That's the ceiling you're quietly agreeing to.

Nobody wants to hear it, but your environment is louder than your willpower. If the people around you are coasting, making peace with "good enough," and rolling their eyes at anyone who wants more... you will slowly, unconsciously shrink to match them. Not because you're weak, but because that's how humans work.

The opposite is just as true. Put yourself around women who are building, closing, raising their rates, and refusing to play small, and something in you straightens up. Their normal becomes your normal. Their standards recalibrate yours. You start reaching for things you wouldn't have said out loud a year ago.

You don't rise to your goals. You fall to the level of the room you're standing in.
So protect that room. Get around the people who make you want more, and become one of them.

There’s a hell of a lot of pressure to stick with something just because you’ve spent years getting there. Somewhere along the way, changing direction starts looking like failure instead of a decision you’ve actually thought through.

My friend @matthewpvincent once said, “The rear view mirror does not dictate where I’m headed.” That one stuck with me because our past should teach us something, not dictate the rest of our lives.

It’s okay to pivot, to change your mind, and to want something different than you did ten years ago. Just make sure you’re moving toward something you actually want, not simply running away because things got hard.

Who are you really training for?

I pick up the weight to stand in front of this mirror and what do I see, a version of a man that is still not where he wants to be.

How many versions have I seen Stand before me with weights in his hands trying to mold a man that apparently I cannot stand.

I continue to try and become a better version than what exists, but how many countless versions have stood here with the Mark he has surely missed

How can it be that another day has come & yet I detest what this mirror has reflected back, because all I can see is that I have to do more and it’s glaring to me I’m still not on the right track

What do I have to do to make this mirror Show me what it is that I want to see, as I sit here sweating profusely I start to realize what it could possibly be.

I don’t give credit to all the times this man has shown up before, he never gets a pat on the back, no accolades for the battles he’s had to endure.

He has shown up for countless years to face the scorn, to lift the weights to forge his body so that he could weather the storm.

But the storm that he trains for is not for the challenges of life or the ability to perform, but mainly to battle the internal critic that says it’s still not enough Boy……now GIVE ME ONE MORE.

I get this question a lot from founders and entrepreneurs that I work with.

Will I lose my drive if I change the behavior that’s “made me successful?”

And the answer is always “no” without a doubt. I’ve seen it time and time again in my client’s lives. They are so much happier when they are free from the shame, fear, anger, or need to prove themselves to the world.

Drive is essential for us to create meaningful things in the world. Let’s keep that drive. But, let’s change the ‘why’ behind that drive so that you’re actually fulfilled by your life.

Leading your company, community, or your family brings you a sense of pride. Let’s make sure it’s not also making you bitter, angry, or feeling like you’re carrying the weight of the world at the same time.

We can do really hard and extraordinary things as men. When we’re supported, and able to support ourselves, those hard things are no longer burdensome.

“I have to go workout”

“I can’t wait till Friday”

“Ugh, I have to go to the store”

Instead how about trying

“I get to workout” , “I have a body that allows me to exercise for life”

“I have a job that supports my family, my house, etc” “I love what I do”

“I have the car, ability and time to go to the store”

Maybe some of these are a bit over the top, but that’s the point. If you change the way you talk to yourself or about the things you are doing your mindset starts to shift. There’s more positive in your day and things start to seem like a blessing.

Be grateful for what you are able & capable of doing.

When I say this is the literal best week of my entire year, I mean it.

There is nothing that replaces being in the room.

The connections. The conversations that happen when no one is recording. The things you learn about your business, but even more, the things you uncover about yourself.

This retreat is for practitioners, clinicians and coaches who know they’re capable of more. You want to scale. You want to lead at a higher level. You want to build something bigger without being the person everything depends on.

And sometimes the thing standing between where you are and that next level isn’t another strategy.

It’s you.

It’s getting out of your own way. Seeing the patterns you couldn’t see before. Having people around you who will challenge you, push you and remind you what you’re actually capable of.

That’s what happens in this room.

You leave with strategy, absolutely. But you also leave thinking differently about your business, your leadership and yourself.

And selfishly, I think I get just as much out of this week as everyone who comes.
