Day in the Life: Off-Duty Doula 🤍

POV: your doula is officially off the clock ✨

A day of slow mornings, coffee, errands, movement, rest, and soaking up the little moments that remind me to practice what I encourage my clients to do—pause, breathe, and take care of yourself.

Being a doula means holding space for others, but it also means knowing when I need to refill my cup. 🫶🏼

Because behind every birth worker is a human who needs rest, too.

Come spend an off-duty day with me 🤍

Labor is a journey you were never meant to walk alone. 💛

To the partners: your presence matters more than you may realize. You don’t have to know all the answers—you just need to be present, encouraging, and willing to love well.

Here are a few meaningful ways you can support your laboring partner:
✨ Pray with and over her.
✨ Speak words of encouragement and remind her of her strength.
✨ Hold her hand, offer counter pressure, and help her change positions.
✨ Keep her hydrated and remind her to rest between contractions.
✨ Advocate for her birth preferences when she needs to focus inward.
✨ Simply stay close. Your calm presence can bring incredible peace.

Birth is hard work, but it’s also holy work. As you support one another, remember that God is with you every step of the way.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1 ❤️

Whether you’re preparing for an unmedicated birth, an epidural, or a cesarean birth, your support can help create a space where she feels safe, seen, and deeply loved.

Save this post for your birth prep, and tag your partner so they know how they can support you on one of the most meaningful days of your lives. 🤍
