Why we were able to gather the table. @mattnahan (Matt) said it plainly: “Show up. Don’t talk about it. Be about it.” That line stayed with us because it reflects exactly what his support looked like. Matt and @orsacreditunion didn’t just lend their name to the event; they showed up to fill a gap so the Michigan Workforce Table Event wouldn’t be canceled at the last minute. Orsa shows real support, authentic presence, and a genuine investment in the community and women.✨ We’re deeply grateful to Matt & Orsa Credit Union for contributing to The Michigan Workforce Table, Onyx Edition, and making October 10 possible. Thank you for being at the table with us. #MichiganWorkforceTable #ORSACreditUnion #Detroit #Leadership #EdgeToEase

Swipe ⬅️ NEXT THANK YOU! THE SPONSORS! Our next Topgolf thank you goes to the people and businesses who made the entire night possible, our sponsors. This is the part of fundraising that I love to acknowledge; when sponsors step up and cover the costs of an event, the money our guests spend on tickets can actually go where we want it to go, directly toward serving domestic violence survivors and their children. A night of golf, music, food, drinks and FUN becomes emergency housing, transportation, therapy, legal support, groceries, safety and another chance to say YES when a survivor calls us. That happened because these incredible people and businesses believed in what we were doing: 💜 @chieffinancialcu Chief Financial Credit Union, Gameplay Sponsor 💜 @denisemmans @mansfieldinsurancegroup Denise Mansfield & Mansfield Insurance, Entertainment Sponsor 💜 @orsacreditunion orsa credit union, Beverage & Dessert Sponsor 💜 @lissabethppf Lissa Pietrykowski & Peak Physique 💜 @becky__alleymortgage Becky Alley, CMG Home Loans 💜 @katie_the_closer @mrcyruswheeler Katie & Cyrus Wheeler and Match Realty 💜 @redlipkristin Kristin Bond, Photo Booth Sponsor 💜 @thesocialmediastore1 The Social Media Store 💜 @photos.by.shadia @shads580 Shadia Amen, Event Photography 💜 Nanette Nawrot, Irina Kushelman & @birminghamskin Birmingham Skin & Hair Aesthetics And a HUGE thank you to GEM Designs, who generously donated all of our beautiful sponsor signs for the evening. Those details are so important, and having every business that invested in our mission beautifully represented throughout the event meant so much to us. These are businesses and people saying, “Survivors matter to us, too.” They used what they have built, their resources, businesses, and their success, to make someone else’s next chapter a little safer. THAT is community. THAT is impact. And THAT is how we were able to put the FUN in fundraising while keeping the purpose of the night exactly where it belonged, on survivors and their children. To every one of our sponsors, thank you for showing up, stepping up and making this night possible. We are so incredibly grateful. 💜🩷🦋🙌🏽🫶🏽

SPONSOR THANK YOU: ORSA CREDIT UNION! One of my favorite things about this work is watching a connection turn into a relationship, and then watching that relationship turn into ACTION. That is exactly what has happened with our friends at orsa credit union. We originally connected through the Choose the Bear Tour, with @laurakillingbeck, which opened the door to important conversations around domestic violence, awareness, safety, and what it actually looks like for a community to stand behind survivors. And orsa continues to choose to show up again and again!! We are incredibly grateful to @tstearns15 , @mattnahan , Laura, Carrie, and the entire @orsacreditunion Team, for stepping forward as our Beverage and Dessert Sponsor for Topgolf for Survivors on October 1st! Behind every organizational partnership are PEOPLE who choose to care, make the introduction, continue the conversation, advocate internally, and decide that supporting their community is worth investing in. Thank you, orsa team! There is something really special about organizations that understand community involvement means building relationships, showing up, investing resources, learning about the needs around you and asking, “How can we help?” Their sponsorship, alongside our other incredible partners, is helping us cover the expenses of this event so that ticket proceeds can go directly toward domestic violence survivors and their children. Those dollars become emergency housing, transportation, therapy, legal assistance, groceries, clothing, safety and stability, and that is what community partnership can do. To the entire orsa credit union family, thank you for continuing this relationship beyond the Choose the Bear Tour. Thank you for championing our mission, showing up for survivors, and for putting action behind your commitment to the community. We are so grateful this connection brought us together, and even more grateful that it continues to grow!! We cannot wait to celebrate with you at Topgolf! THIS WEEK IN ORSA! From treating teachers to a Tigers game, to helping our friends at Crossroads Industries set up their new space in Gaylord, to opening a brand new branch in Novi, we had a pretty busy week!

So, we thought we'd share a roundup of photos from our amazing team members spreading joy and igniting dreams all across the state. First up, our social impact team had the privilege of hosting the winners of the @pccs_official back-to-school drawing with District teachers and staff at a Tigers game! They were joined by our Pickleball for Good silent auction winners as well. Always a blast! 🐯 Next, orsa is back in Novi! We got the team and the community together to celebrate the grand opening of our brand new branch right on Grand River Ave. The food was delicious, the tunes were rockin’, and the excitement was off the charts! 🐻 We were also thrilled to be able to help set up a brand new space for our friends at Crossroads Industries, one of our community partners in Gaylord, supporting individuals living with cognitive and developmental disabilities. Team member Jackie Swanson even put on a financial fraud presentation to spread the good word about staying secure and safe with your finances! 💵 Last but certainly not least, some of you may have seen the story Sue Collins-Schroeder, Executive Director of the @novieducationalfoundation, shared at our grand opening about Biscuit the therapy dog. 3 years ago, orsa made a donation to the therapy dog program and Biscuit became the very first therapy dog in the district. It turns out that it started a trend and now every school in the district has a therapy dog! Naturally, we thought it was only right and proper to pay the pup tax and share a picture of Biscuit, a very good boy! 🐶 Thank you to everyone who joined us for our events this week! We’re forever grateful to be able to walk alongside so many of our incredible members. Have a great weekend! (P.S. for the grandparents out there, don’t forget to stop into a branch Saturday morning to pick up your free ice cream gift card!) 🍦

Swipe ⬅️ When I started On the Wings of Angels, I never could have imagined that, three years later, I’d be standing beside a woman who had just cycled all the way from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula to Detroit to raise awareness and support for domestic violence survivors. Or, that I’d be standing beside the leadership team of a credit union and foundation that chose to invest in survivors, and boldly make this cause part of their identity and their mission. It’s amazing how so much of life changes because of one introduction. I first met the team at orsa credit union and orsa credit union Foundation because I attended a PNC Pancakes and Politics breakfast at the invite of Michael Bickers, where @johnnie.turnage was speaking. During a conversation, I shared the vision behind On the Wings of Angels, and Johnnie simply said, “You need to meet Matt.” That suggestion to reach out to Matthew Nahan, MSW, MBA @mattnahan started a beautiful relationship, trust and collaboration. And, that collaboration became a movement that has touched countless lives across Michigan. Last night was a celebration of what happens when people link arms for something bigger than themselves. I watched a team that poured their hearts into elevating the conversation around domestic violence, economic abuse, and women’s safety. I watched Laura Killingbeck @laurakillingbeck use her extraordinary journey to amplify survivor voices. I watched @orsacreditunion @tstearns15 and Team lead with courage, vision, and action. And, I was honored to help connect this story with Priya Mann News Anchor WDIV, so even more people could hear it. That’s what community is. We don’t gatekeep opportunities or ask, “What’s in it for me?” We ask, “Who else needs to be in this room?”Every introduction has the potential to change a life and every collaboration has the potential to become a lifeline. Every person who chooses to use their influence to lift someone else, creates a ripple effect they may never fully see. Thank you, all. Your courage, compassion, and leadership have helped create hope for survivors across our state. I am incredibly grateful to have been a part of this journey.💜🩷🫶🏽🥰

“We walk, and now with Laura we ride, with our members through both the bright and dark moments of life—and that means showing up for survivors. This tour is our commitment, in action, to every woman in Michigan who deserves to control her own future. We believe credit unions can activate freedom and options for women and those who love them.” —Tansley Stearns, president and ceo of orsa credit union This week I headed to Gaylord for a mid-journey celebration with the orsa team. This is truly a special group of people!! Orsa is creating financial ecosystems that support survivors of domestic violence. If you’re based in Michigan, it’s easy to sign up for one of their new debit cards. Each time you swipe, orsa donates to survivors. ❤️ #orsacreditunion #choosethebeartour #sheexplores #shewentwild

The 2025 Pickleball for Good Fundraiser was a smash hit! Thanks to our wonderful sponsors, donors, and pickle-ballers, we’ve raised $71k for the Relentless Care Foundation’s mission of putting housing within reach for more Michiganders! This wouldn’t have been possible without such a kind, caring community—and the gratitude we’re feeling right now is overwhelming. There’s a lot of work left to do, but we can make big strides together! Visit cfcu.org/relentless-care-foundation to donate or learn more about the Relentless Care Foundation!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the grand opening of our new Detroit branch with us yesterday! It was a night of joy, camaraderie, and collaboration, as we were joined by community leaders from across the state of Michigan to share in our commitment to supporting Michiganders. To our NW Detroit neighbors, we hope you’ll stop in and make this space your own. Whether you’re looking to open an account or just need a place to ignite your wild dreams, our doors are open!
