Four Australians competed at the Paris Grand Prix, one of the toughest events on the World Taekwondo calendar.

It was great to have @mattysummerfield and @xaviernikolovski both make their Grand Prix debuts, a reward after some good results in 2026.

Summerfield started off with a bang winning the opening round of his first GP match by point gap before his opponent made a respectable comeback. A strong start at this level for Matty nevertheless.

Nikolovski has had the breakout in 2026 we have been hoping for, he now knows where he needs to be to take his game to the next level.

@aiden.stilleh pushed hard through a tough contest, taking some great learnings out of this GP.

@gabyblewitt leaves Paris hungrier than ever to come back stronger.

Well done to all four athletes representing Australian at such a major event.

Australia has a great record at the Paris GP, having won medals at the last two events (2022 & 2023) through Bailey Lewis. Big shoes to fill for these four young guns!!

Aiden competes on Friday, with Gaby, Xavier and Matty closing things out on Saturday 💪

An incredible 2 days of competition held in Melbourne. Our entire club is leading the way and I couldn’t be prouder. From our Brave hearts doing their first competition to our National team members, you all competed with Heart, Determination and most importantly respect. To our parents, thank you for supporting our kids to the best of your abilities, and holding yourselves to such a high standard on competition day cheering and encouraging others. Our club culture is unmatched.

Grateful to have such an incredible coaching team taking care of everyone. Thank you to Mason, Hannah, Lachlan, Matty & Chloe for the expert guidance. We are blessed to say the least…

To the Harrison family holding down the fort for 2 days, thank you for running everything so smoothly with the great help of Steve and Sarah.

Now we move onto preparations for the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS held in October where HEART will make their first appearance as a new club on the National stage. Let’s keep pushing each other to the next level!

Always, For the of the sport.
