Alpenglow 100k!
What a wild, humbling, painful, beautiful experience.. My first real mountain race had everything and more - thunderstorms on a ridge in the dark (terrifying), smooth flowy trails, the steepest steeps you’ve ever steeped, epic views, snow, mud, rain, sunset, sunrise, and the best people!

There was a point early in the race where I questioned if I actually still like doing these? My hands were freezing, every layer I had on was soaking wet, and I could barely see 4 ft in front of me due to thick fog and rain reflecting off my headlamp. I was alone, singing to myself, fearful of the possibility of stumbling upon an angry grizzly or big cat in the middle of the night. I had just gotten over the panic of being on a ridge near a thunderstorm..
Barely into double-digit miles, I thought what the f am I doing out here?
But then I made a friend and got on some cruiseyyy flowy mountain bike trails. I made sound effects as I cut high on the berms and dropped into the switchbacks with my arms out to my sides. I was flowing to my new playlist and remembered running brings me so much joy!! and tried to hold onto that feeling for the next 40 miles / 10k+ feet of climbing.. ha!

I also remembered how special it is to do hard things with others. Even if we didn’t speak, at times it felt like we were working as a team to get through the climb, the dark, the downhill. Everyone encourages each other as they pass, with a deep understanding of what each other are going through.. and I think that’s a beautiful part of ultras.

So thankful for my parents ❤️ Pargol + Dave, Steve, Jackie D, Dave + Tracy, all the amazing runners and volunteers,
My coach @jadebelzberg !!!

I left with even more stoke and love for the sport, the people, and life than I arrived with.
That was so hard!! Thank you Gary & @coastmtntrail !!
Can’t wait to be back in Valemount again for more !

The full moon, the Grand Canyon, 13 hours and 37 miles on foot, and a group of girls living like their lives depend on it.

I love these adventures. I love scheming them up in my brain & with friends, training for them, and then watching them come to life.
It’s so inspiring to be surrounded by others—especially women—who dream big, push their limits, and want to experience everything life has to offer.

Life is a dance! The ups and downs, the push and pull… we learn from each other and carry one another through the valleys so we can stand in awe together at the peaks.

Thank you for saying YES @maukamel @rosiejean808 @emoneeeey and especially @ddcote and @kendrabeanie , who were eager to go farther than they ever have before.

I’ll never forget this weekend, the moon, the elk, the way the sun lit up the canyon in the early morning, the feeling of insignificance in a place so vast, and the reminder of how special it is to have a group of women willing and able to take on something like this.
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
