It's weirdo time again, chez Mo! So, what now? And WHY, exactly? Well, I often like to return to an era when I made theatrical masks. The masks evolved into sculpture, and I'm only sorry I no longer have any of the work I produced back then. It was years ahead of the time I got my first pc so, showing images would have been virtually impossible. These 2 ghoulish heads are simply a work in progress. Once again, the sticky mess and piles of paper pulp adorn the floor. The worst part of this being it's never confined to my studio!!!🤭 @maureengraysonart

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Or is it merely a pointer in a direction to infinity? 'Messenger' is a newly reworked assemblage sculpture with echoes of bronze and cast iron. In all reality, it's mixed media on discarded wood cuts. Standing 38 x 55 x 20 cms, I've always felt it wanted to take flight. Call it a maquette for a public art installation. In its very own fantasy, even art can aspire to dream!

Standing Stone is far from its title. This mixed media assemblage has a mysterious past but, as the truth has been out there for some time, I'll admit it's not what it seems! So, can you guess the hidden secret of this 21 x 11 x 5ins piece which is neither as heavy, nor as light as you'd imagine. Honestly, when you come to think of it, I might as well have titled it, Conundrum!!!

Lava, and the relic. Is one the consequence of the other? In this case, doubtful; yet everything is connected. Small scale mixed media sculpture against a heavy impasto canvas. Relic: h.18 x w.8 x d.5 cms mounted on a wooden base. Lava: 60 x 60 cms.

Skip Man needs little introduction as he was sourced from a builder's skip, and hasn't really evolved beyond recognition! Constructed of wood blocks and metal components, I coated him in a mixture of sand, filler, and acrylics to give him a look of graphite paving. Traditional assemblage or not, he's one of my key pieces in a series of works designed to totally disguise the appearance of wood. h.80 x 34 x 10cms mounted on a slate tile.

This Earth Day, we turn art into action! 🌍✨

We’ve planted 30 new trees in the Amazon Rainforest on behalf of our Artists of the Season and Seasons of Change community. 🌱

Supporting efforts to restore biodiversity, heal degraded lands, and uplift local communities is a small but meaningful step towards long-term impact.

Thank you for your ongoing support! This is something meaningful we’re growing together.

Because art should not only inspire, but give back.

How are you showing up this Earth Day? 🌍💚

What lingers beneath the surface of a painting? ✨

SEASONS of CHANGE Exhibiting artist Maureen Grayson creates richly layered mixed media works that unfold slowly and sensitively.

Incorporating acrylics, collage, dry media, fine paper, printed matter, found elements, and thread, her abstract paintings invite close attention and emotional presence.

Moody and atmospheric, Maureen’s practice builds pictorial spaces through delicate colour relationships, line, and texture. Each work becomes a quiet conversation, between material and memory, place and perception, where complexity is revealed through careful looking.

Her paintings remind us that meaning is often layered, tactile, and felt as much as it is seen.

Discover her work at SEASONS of CHANGE Exhibition on view at Khaw Gallery, Daku Kensington from 6 Dec 2025 – 6 Mar 2026.

All welcome! 🖼️☕️
