Celebrating our dear friends’ playa wedding last year remains one of my favorite playa memories to date.⠀
⠀
Dressed in a sea of white against the dust, our camp gathered under the chuppah I had the honor of building for them. As if it were right on cue, the storm clouds parted and the sun broke through for the ceremony, giving us our first clear sunset of the burn. While sadly Alyssa and Svet won’t be here this year, we had their names engraved on one of the art pieces, Pulse, keeping their presence alive until their return to Black Rock City. 🤍✨

Hard to believe we’re less than a week away from heading back home. Every year, right when you think you know what to expect, the playa proves you wrong. These past 12 months have been so full of change that I’m returning to the playa feeling like a new person, beginning all over again. And I am so ready for another chapter with my Dilated Peoples family! In the meantime, in typical delayed Jeff fashion, here are some photos from the last burn (some things never change 😛). If you’re out there, come say hi and rest your weary eyes at our Eye Spa: 6:45 & C!

Grateful for the memories of 2025 🤍 This year was marked by so much love and also so much ache. I’m thankful for time with friends and family, for laughter-filled trips, new experiences, and meaningful rituals that reminded me of all the beauty and richness in life.

This wasn’t an easy year. Entering a tight job market, navigating DOGE research grant terminations, and living through the ongoing assaults on democracy weighed heavily and brought constant uncertainty. And unexpectedly losing my sweet dog Minnie also broke my heart. Her absence is still felt every single day, and the quiet moments still ache without her 💕🐾

Despite it all, the kindness, love, care, and support I felt made 2025 deeply meaningful. I’m grateful for finding a new job with more stability after months of applications and interviews, for friendship, family, and for learning to grow and adapt even through loss.

Carrying gratitude forward and stepping into the year ahead with hope, tenderness, and an open heart ✨✨Wishing everyone peace, healing, and brighter days in the New Year ✨✨

Musings from the burn 1/n⠀

This year’s burn was unlike any other. Leading a camp made it a completely different experience — focusing more on radical inclusion over radical self-reliance. As we weathered unexpected storms, celebrated a wedding, cared for others in our spa, and selflessly supported each other, strangers quickly became family.⠀
⠀
I grew closer to friends new and old, found joy in the smallest details, rediscovered a sense of play, and discovered calm in the midst of chaos. I thought this place had finished teaching me about myself. I was wrong.⠀

False Start Burn: although we only had half a week, there was plenty of whimsy, surprise, hilarity, delight, awe and inspiration to go around. I love being around Burners and BRC is like no other place on Earth. Grateful to be able to experience it one more time—storms and all—and with an amazing camp that upholds the BM principles so well.

The past 12 months have been another year filled music, art, nature, love and loved ones. Despite the chaos of our current political climate, and doom that feels just around the corner, there is still light and I’m grateful to have experienced some of it.

Burning Man pulled me through the full spectrum of emotions. I felt inadequate, awkward, and frustrated, but also elated, grateful, and euphoric. Seeing the immense time, energy, and creativity people poured into their self-expression was very inspiring and made me think about how I’ll step into it myself next year, growing more comfortable in my own skin. Thank you for everything, Black Rock City. See you in a bit! ♥️🔥
