AS ALWAYS, BE HAPPY AND LOVE LIFE!!!

These past 8 months have been proof of why I love A&M and the Fish Camp community so much.

@faris.buellersdayoff thank you for giving me the confidence to keep going out for things. @kara.rohloff thank you for being my biggest cheerleader and someone I can always go to for anything.

@bomboklett thank you for showing me friendships I didn’t know I needed and teaching me to be unapologetically myself. To my chairs, thank you for creating an environment where y’all loved me exactly where I was and gave me the space to grow into my own person.

@blake.it.rain you made every second of the work worth it. I don’t think I have cried so much in my life, but every sappy Lakeview tear was worth it. This truly has been the best experience of my life.

To my counselors: thank you for making my chair experience so incredibly memorable and enjoyable. I have loved watching each and every one of y’all grow into the best versions of yourselves not only for your freshmen, but for each other, and camp as a whole. Getting to lead you has been one of the greatest honors of my college experience.

@cammie.blake.7 thank you for being the best namesake I could have asked for. You have done so much for the university and for camp. All your words of encouragement and random acts of kindness have always been appreciated. You love everyone with all your heart and truly someone I aspire to be one day.

And lastly, to my rock through this entire summer, @aspyn.raymondd. You have taught me to have confidence in myself and not be afraid to be the louder person in the room. You gave me encouragement, patience, and the space to be completely myself. I have been so incredibly blessed to start and finish my Fish Camp journey with you by my side. #farisonsforever. After 6 long months, we did it. We built a community that became a family.

@tamufishcamp has been such an important part of my college experience. It has truly changed my life for the better and I am forever grateful.

For two summers now, I have been given the opportunity to be a fish camp counselor. There are not enough words to describe my love for the freshmen, the counselors, or Lakeview. This summer truly taught me why the saying goes “and from the inside looking out, you can’t explain it” because you seriously can’t. There is magic within this organization and I am so grateful that I get to experience just a little piece of it.

To our freshmen, wow I miss you guys. Yall are truly the heart of this camp, we could never do anything with out yall. Thank you guys for signing up for session D, but thank God he put yall in lime. I am so grateful that our paths crossed, and I can not wait to see all of our friendships grow. Never forget that I will be one call or text away if you ever need anything.

To our sweet namesake, the one and only Ms. Cammie Blake! You were so fun to watch at camp, you truly made it a point to talk to every single freshman. There were multiple times where you inspired me to be a better counselor, or times where you simply made me be a better person. You are such a light to everyone around you, you are so strong and full of courage, and most importantly you gave the best advice. I am so thankful I got to meet you this summer and it is a blessing to represent you within this organization!

To my perfect DG 9!! You guys were SO FUN to talk to even when it was the first day and we were all dragging! I truly looked forward to each dg time because I knew that we were all going to just chill and talk. I hope that the advice Drew and I gave was helpful, and I can not wait to see who yall become over this next year. We are proud of you always, and yall better pull with us for the fish camp game!

It’s impossible to put into words what Fish Camp has meant to me. It has shaped the person I’ve become, given me friendships that God knew I needed, and filled these last years at TAMU with moments I’ll carry forever.

Thank you, Camp Weeks, for being where it all began. You welcomed me into the Aggie family before I even knew what that truly meant. You showed me that being an Aggie is more than standing the entirety of a game; it’s choosing selfless service, unwavering loyalty, and a community that becomes a second home.

Thank you, Camp Taylor, for changing my life in ways I’ll never be able to explain. You gave me some of the greatest friendships I’ve ever known and memories that I will cherish forever. More importantly, you gave me the privilege of becoming the counselor I looked up to as a scared freshman.

And finally, thank you, Camp Blake, for the perfect ending to this chapter. These freshmen, chairs, and counselors will probably never know how much they gave me in return. Their excitement, joy, and passion reminded me of exactly why I fell in love with this organization and school in the first place. They reminded me that the greatest gift you can leave behind is helping someone else feel like they belong.

To every staff, director, crew, namesake, chair, counselor, and freshman I’ve met along the way, thank you. Thank you for every late night, every letter, every conversation, every hug, every laugh, and every moment that made this place feel like home.

Fish Camp taught me that the most meaningful moments in life are never the events themselves, but the people you share them with, the lives you touch, and the person you become along the way. Long after the tattoos wash away and my voice comes back, the people and memories will stay.

No matter where life takes me, a part of my heart will always be with this organization and at Lakeview.

If this really is goodbye, then thank you for making it one of the hardest goodbyes I’ll ever have to say. Some places change your life forever, and Fish Camp will always be one of them.
