☺️🍂🌲 WEEKLY BOARD GAME ROUND UP: OCTOBER 12TH - OCTOBER 18TH 🌲🍂☺️ And just like that the week of SPIEL ESSEN ‘26 has arrived but not before a bit of a calmer previous week. ☺️☁️ We had the opportunity after visiting my lovely opera friend in Essen last weekend to starting the week visiting Tim‘s Family in Meinerzhagen! 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 We had a blast of a time eating Kaffee und Kuchen ☕️🍰, Yummy Steak 🥩 & even had a couple board game nights with his Mom who also enjoys gaming! 🎲 We even got to explore some of nature & enjoy the Lake View with them on the one beautiful autumn day we had. 🏞️ Even tried to practice channeling my inner worker Dew Fairy for Hänsel und Gretel (I probably looked like a weirdo moving in Forest from Hikers Above! 😂) Also got to meet up with some of Tim’s friends who also game and have a lovely Asian Meal to close our visit! 🍻🍣🍜 It was such a lovely start to the week adventuring & resting up! 😴Even stopped at IKEA on way home to get a lamp we‘ve been wanting a couple smaller home decor items. 🛋️ Since we had more time to just Life we decided to catch up on things we hadn‘t caught up on: TV, Essen Planning & more. 📺📝 Since choir is off this week I got to focus my whole attention on attending Hänsel und Gretel rehearsals as Mother Cover which is always a pleasure! 🎹 But you know that didn‘t stop us from Board Gaming this last week! Besides my Body and Brain being a little Bit Fried (I think from going hard the past couple months with shows and rehearsals….woops ) 🧠😶‍🌫️ we did end up choosing games that weren‘t so crazy and I guess more on the fun, cozy, side. ☕️ Continued on our SPOOKTOBER SERIES 👻🎃 but also pulled out some games to play with Friends since we did get to play with more then just 2 players at the beginning of last week. We do love when we can play with more than just 2 players! 🇮🇪Rebirth🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 If you are still sitting on the fence about this game then get off that fence and RUN FORREST RUUUUUNN!! With the announcement of Rebirth Two sending us Rebirth lovers into a frenzy, I reckon it’s about time I give my little take on the game that has everyone hooked. The gameplay is as simple as it gets…. Pick up a tile, place tile, score tile. It goes without saying, the simplicity is what makes it brilliant. Energy and food tiles are placed on blank spaces or on their respective spaces, whilst house tiles can only be placed on the settlements. On the Scottish side, you will be attempting to surround a castle, to gain some end game points but be careful of your opponent/s! Objective cards are obtained by placing tokens next to cathedrals and these secret missions may see your castle being overthrown! (We loooove a cheeky scuppering!) Ireland side offers a more tactile experience, with the objectives on offer for everyone and round towers for bonuses! Both are excellent….but i may be slightly addicted to the Scottish side for now though 👌🏻 It’s a game that can be played with anyone quickly and easily, only taking a few moments to explain, fabulous design and amazing table presence too! Perfect for families, friends, as a two player but unfortunately not as a solo…..(erm pretty please?!! 🙏) I’ve so far played 4 times and every time it gets a little bit more addictive. I just love the first initial couple of rounds, where you think ‘oh well, this is easy’ then it rapidly descends into all out claiming chaos! It’s a token laying puzzler, perfect over a cup of tea, the player interaction is spot on and it’s up there for me with the likes of Cascadia and oh yes, Catan, in terms of introducing to family and staying power 👌🏻🤎 Convinced yet? @mightyboards @max.kosek.games #rebirthboardgame #fyp #bestboardgames #familyboardgames #boardgamerecommendations

🪨 Going farther sounds like a good idea… until you remember you’re paying for the trip with your building materials. 🏛️ That’s one of the things I like about For the Gods! We’re sailing around the Aegean, building temples and competing for glory, but the stones used to travel are the same ones we need when we arrive. And because building generally requires stones of the same rank, those five stones behind your screen don’t always give you quite as much freedom as you’d hope. 🎒 Building comes with another problem. Every stone you add to a temple leaves your bag, making that temple taller and influencing what you’ll draw on future turns. Keep building and eventually you won’t have enough stones left to draw a full hand, which is also what brings the game towards its end. ⚡ The gods complicate things a little further. Their stones can enter your bag and later be used to dedicate temples, giving you different abilities. They’re useful and don’t change the basic move, build and draw structure too much. 👀 There’s plenty of information sitting on the table. Everyone only has six stones of each rank, so the temples tell you something about what their owners can still do. And nobody needs to destroy your beautiful temple. Building a taller one next door works just fine. 🤔 I do wonder how the repetition will hold up over many more plays. Your basic turn doesn’t change much, although I also like that the rules quickly get out of the way and leave you to think about your stones, the board and what everyone else is building. 😊 We’d happily play again, especially with three or four players. Just don’t get too attached to having the tallest temple. 🏛️ Rebirth II is coming to Kickstarter 16.02.2027 🏛️ Rebirth II is a new standalone game in the Rebirth series. Rebirth II presents two new standalone maps: Greece and Italy. The tile laying heart of Rebirth remains the same; players draw a tile and then place it on the board, but each map takes the Rebirth spirit into a new direction. Both maps make use of the new City-State system, where the map is split into various self-governing regions. The game is designed by Reiner Knizia. Dans Fric Frac !, chacun devient à son tour le Génie criminel et choisit secrètement le lieu qu’il souhaite cambrioler. Les autres joueurs vont alors tenter de lire dans son jeu et de deviner où il compte frapper. Trouvez le bon lieu et vous pourrez lui piquer une partie du butin. Mais laissez-le seul… et il repartira les poches pleines ! Au fil des casses, vous collectionnez vos trésors dans votre planque, avec seulement 3 alcôves pour organiser vos précieux butins. Il faudra donc faire les bons choix… et parfois accepter de partir sur une fausse piste pour récupérer ce qui vous intéresse. ❤️ On a beaucoup aimé ce mélange de bluff, déduction et collection. On observe les autres, on tente de comprendre leurs intentions et chaque révélation crée son petit moment de tension. C’est accessible, rapide, interactif et forcément un peu chaotique quand tout le monde pense avoir compris votre plan !
