Heritage Day was everything we hoped for and more. 🇿🇦✨

Hosted by @sundaysoulsessionsbraai, with a soundscape that carried us all afternoon, and a menu from @embersdubai that tasted like home. 🔥 Art from with Africarts and @exhibition_through_music_ added colour and story to the day, and @max_hoba took the stage with a live performance that had the whole crowd moving. 🎶

Thank you to everyone who came through, shared a plate, danced, and walked away with prizes from @ktbeautyuae . 💄 This is what Pan African community looks like: rooted, joyful and together. 🌍❤️

Until the next one!

The kudu, totem animal of South Africa National Parks, gets it's common English name from the mispronunciation of it's Xhosa name (Mandela's people and language). The Xhosa name for it is iqhude - the 'Q' is a click, the kind you make when imitating a cork pop. Pop that off your tongue in celebration of this standout animal.

As we celebrate 50th Anniversary of the June 16, 1976, student-led Soweto Uprising with Max-Hoba yesterday at the South African Embassy in Berlin. A great event organised by the Mayibuye Sudafrika Community in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa with support of DeSaFor.
