Who let them boys out the house alone

It’s taken me about a month to find the right words to capture just how influential you were in my life. I will always be grateful to have called you a close friend, and honored that you thought highly enough of me to take me under your wing, teaching me the practices and techniques you carried with you every day as an audio engineer.

Learning from you was always exciting, thoughtful, and inspiring. Being your studio assistant during sessions, and working alongside you on repairs and improvements, was a dream come true for an audio geek who dreamed of becoming a studio technician back in college.

Outside of the studio, we built something just as meaningful, a weekly escape with our Magic The Gathering pod. Sitting down with you, Dimitri, Max, Spencer, and Andrew, playing Commander, talking about life, and laughing late into the night became something I looked forward to every week. It was always infuriating going up against your Chatterfang deck. but now I’d give anything to lose to it just one more time.

We spent countless hours talking about pedals, guitars, punk music, MTG, video games, and food. Finding someone who shares so many of your interests becomes rarer as you get older, and I feel incredibly lucky that I found that in you.

It’s still hard to accept that you won’t be there to talk to or learn from anymore. But knowing how many people you impacted brings a sense of peace. Your kindness, passion, and generosity live on in all of us who were fortunate enough to know you.

You continue to inspire me to pursue my goals and stay true to my path. I’ll carry forward the style of engineering you taught me and keep it alive in my own work, wherever I may end up. While we can’t continue working together, I’ll always look for ways to honor the profound impact you had on me, both personally and professionally.

How has it been six months since I was on the one and only Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives proclaiming my love for @omarcitos_chicago?!

This still remains one of the highlights of my year and was such a blast to be a part of. 🥰

If you missed the episode and want to watch, it’s titled “Dallas Dumplings, Florida Fries, and Chi-Tacos” and you can find it via the @foodnetwork or Hulu!

It makes me happy to look back on these behind-the-scenes photos and the fish jibarito sticker I created to celebrate the episode release.

Support your local businesses today and always, friends! 💕

☁️ A little gloom, a lot of beauty...

Don’t let a cloudy day dim your shine — the love, the laughter, and those breathtaking mountain views still steal the show. 🌄💍

There’s something so romantic about misty skies and moody light wrapping around a couple as they say “I do.” Nature has a way of showing up beautifully, even when the sun doesn’t.

Rain or shine, the mountains never stop being magic — and neither does love. 🤍
