Maxime Jonker (NED) made the most of three very different races on Dublin Bay, moving up to fourth overall with another strong day in Gold Fleet.

From waves and more familiar conditions early, to big shifts and a much trickier second race, the Dutch sailor focused on starting well, staying fast and working through whatever the course threw at her.

“I’ve trained very hard for this. If I start at the front, then I work my ass off, and we’ll see where it ends.”

Dus all to play for!

Maxime Jonker is back at the ILCA 6 World Championship with a clear target in Dublin.

After a year off in 2025, the Dutch sailor has spent this season back in full-time preparation, including training blocks in Los Angeles and Dublin.

For much of Jonker’s career, Marit Bouwmeester set the benchmark for Dutch ILCA 6 sailing. Now Jonker is focused on writing her own chapter.

“Becoming World Champion in the ILCA class is a goal in itself.”
