Bloco: a cultural movement of local pride, in its most Brazilian form.
@bateriasaideira, dancers, estandartes, costumes.
Samba drums locked in sync.
Community members dressed in theme.
And all of it takes practice.

A school for all ages.
A third space.
A way to keep learning, making friends, and staying in the rhythm.
A creative practice.
A living samba culture.
A living sound system.
A piece of Carnaval with Miami flavor.

Bloco: Local cultural movement in its most Brazilian form.

It’s a school for all ages, it’s a third space, a way to keep learning & making friends, it’s a creative practice, it’s samba culture, it’s friendships, it’s being part of a giant living sound system.

Miamibloco is made and supported by people of all ages & backgrounds who want to play, honor & study Brazilian percussion and dance

Bloco: A creative community part social club, part school
Full reverence for Afro Brazilian rhythms and culture

You can join Miamibloco the beginner Bateria Academy course, and end up playing a parade and shows around Miami + access to some of the best percussionist & educators we bring from Brasil!

Miamibloco: Rio style Samba School, homegrown in Miami.

We honor the real meaning of belonging to this tradition of samba. It’s not for “entertainment” , it’s a way of life.

So we teach beginners and samba beginners ( proficient in other instruments) why we believe in the power of bloco energy: percussion + dance + costumes

We are a bridge between Miami and Rio de Janeiro

You can learn to embody samba in “Corpo em Som”, and introductory 6 session journey through Afro samba, and samba no pé. Drills and all…. 🩴 Grit over glitter. ✨

Carnaval is not 1 day of party , it’s a way to build community year round in the name of joy, play, and connection.

The real party is in the practice

Bloco is a state of mind.

Join a class, audition to play, parade in Miamibloco
