POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Through a Topical Storm, visit to medical tent (pre-event - everything was fine), flat tire during race (walked 1.8 miles to bike tent in cleats) Max Topo and I had only 1 sight in mind and nothing would get in the way…the finish line.

This was Max’s first Olympic distance and I haven’t done this distance in 11 years. We randomly got united for the last 2 miles and crossed together.

But there is still work to be done. We did this race and are planning more to raise awareness for ALS. Staci Cohen Toporek mom Sheri was watching over us yesterday in spirit. Her fight and perseverance through this terrible disease was our inspiration. No matter the pain we endured for a few short hours doesn’t compare to her battle.

Help support ALS by donating. We are matching up to $1,800 to try and get to our goal.

This dude had brass balls against the Ballers in a hostile Oakland crowd. In a tight 2 run game after 3 singles in a row in the 5th to load the bases he fanned top of the order with 2 strikeouts to sit em down with no runs scored to throw up his fifth 0. Amazing effort. Keep grinding @jaketopooo

Happy 22 to the man that keeps evolving. There is nobody I know that pushes himself beyond his potential physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. He is an inspiration daily. May he have peace in his soul and shine his light brighter each day. Seize the day.

Happy Momma’s Day to our Queen who keeps our kingdom running and helping us pursue our dreams. With love and discipline the boys are well fed, hydrated and get plenty of sleep. Our in-house doc keeps us all healthy. All with a little fun and a little spice. We love you and appreciate all that you do for us. And how is he spending her momma’s day….of course at a baseball field. We love you.

21 months ago I was on a couch in London thinking of happy hour at 4pm but I made a different choice that day to do a 10 minute workout in my room. I was gassed but that was my first step to getting control back of my life.

Yesterday after a 10 year hiatus, I did a sprint triathlon. That wasn’t even a remote thought back in London.

It was also an important comeback for my son Max who had been suffering from chronic back pain (after bilateral hip surgeries and a college baseball comeback). He battled his demons the week before the race and absolutely crushed it.

And we did it all on my late mother-in-laws Nanny Sheri’s birthday who passed from ALS watching over us smiling.

Everything is possible. Mind, body, soul, nutrition, fitness.

I share these stories because taking your life back is a conscious choice. Nobody will hand it to you. It’s yours for the taking.
