POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A great evening with fellow collectors, putting some of our favorite pieces side by side and talking about what really drives this hobby. The passion, the obsession, the stories, and the hunt.

We talked movements, references, vintage quirks, market shifts, and the pieces that somehow become impossible to buy the moment everyone decides they’re “the next big thing.”

We shared market insights, traded experiences, and, of course, had a few good rants about indies and VCs turning scarcity and unattainability into part of the hype.

At the end of the day, collecting isn’t just about what’s on your wrist. It’s about the people, the conversations, and the passion behind every piece. #watchcollector #watchcommunity #horology #vintagewatches #rarewatches

Some beautiful close up shots of this Vintage benrus watch
The patina of the hands is really something to look at along with the dial texture is perfectly imperfect!

Kicking Off Our First @watchesandwonders Reel with My Favourite Piece from @corumwatches
Love the Whimsical Idea of the Golden Book that Was Inspired by the Historic Piece from 1996. The 2026 Rendition has a Line from Earnest Hemingway. Love it.

From early meetings to late-afternoon exchanges, Day 2 was all about meaningful connections.

We met with engaged collectors, leading editors, and partners from across the watchmaking world, each bringing new perspectives and interest in the 1902 GMT.

Thank you to all who joined us here in Dubai Watch Week 😍

I vividly remember the ‘Glamorous Day-Dates’ Auction back in 2015 by Phillips & Pucci Papaleo, that made me so passionate about day dates more than any other Rolexes! Stella, Guilloche, Textures, Lacquered, Thinly-Sliced Rare Stones & what not! Add to that - special bracelets like Mesh, tiles, brick, & of course the King of all Presidential bracelets!
Add to that - Arabic Hindi Numerals? Exquisite!
All in all, not more than 50 examples with a mix of all these configurations (& *with Arabic Hindi Numerals) were seen & known to be fitted to Day-Dates from the late 1950s until mid-1970s, from references 1801 to 1806 (Correct me market prophets @goldberger @simoncsfeir )
1. Ref. 1803 ‘Idris’ in White Gold ca1968 @phillipsauction
2. Ref. 1803 ‘Aladdin’s Rose’ in Pink Gold ca1974 @phillipswatches
3. Double Trouble in the hand of the legend @simoncsfeir – Ref. 1803 with the epic guilloche dials
4. Ref. 1804 dating to 1960, nicknamed “Scheherazade” by @pucci.papaleo – literally translating to ‘Son of a King’, cased in platinum with factory set diamond bezel
5. Fast Forward to 2022, Rolex announced the Day-Date 40 cased in Platinum with an Ice Blue Dial & different variations of Bezels (even seen in baguette set bezel!) @maxtor71
6. Look at those tasty blued indices!
7. Bonus: Ref. 1806 gold brick mesh bracelet, Florentine Finished Bezel circa1972, sold by @pushers.io
