👁️✨ Clear Vision, Brighter Futures
Our eyes help us learn, explore, connect, and experience the world around us. Clear vision plays an important role in a child’s learning, confidence, and everyday life. Recognizing the importance of early eye care, Mayaa Nepal, in collaboration with Matrika Eye Hospital, organized an Eye Camp at Gram Sewa School. 👀
At Mayaa Nepal, we believe that a child’s well-being goes beyond education and basic needs. Health and preventive care are an equally important part of helping children grow and thrive.
Through health initiatives such as eye screening camps, dental check-ups, medical check-ups, and health awareness sessions, we work to encourage early identification of health concerns and promote healthy habits among children and their communities. 🩺👓
Because sometimes, a simple check-up can help a child see more clearly, learn better, and look ahead with confidence. ✨👧🏻🧒🏻
Let’s care for their health today, so they can see a brighter tomorrow. 💙

💛 Listen for 10 Minutes. Connect with Your Child. 👂🌱
Sometimes, children don’t need immediate advice or answers—they simply need to feel heard, understood, and safe.
Mayaa Nepal organized a psychoeducation session for mothers on active listening and meaningful parent-child communication, facilitated by counsellors Saloni Malla and Laxmi Karki.
Through interactive discussions, real-life case scenarios, videos, and role-play activities, mothers explored how small changes in the way we listen can make a big difference in a child’s emotional well-being. 🌱
The session focused on:
👂 Hearing vs. Listening — understanding the difference between simply hearing words and truly listening to a child.
💛 From Judgment to Empathy — looking beyond a child’s behavior to understand the feelings and needs behind it.
🌱 Understanding Behavior — exploring what children may be trying to communicate through their actions.
🤝 Building Stronger Bonds — creating trust and connection through patient, respectful communication.
💬 Supporting Emotional Moments — learning how to respond when children experience emotional distress, loneliness, or social exclusion.
🧩 Listening with Boundaries — understanding that empathy and active listening can go hand in hand with healthy boundaries.
✨ Because sometimes, just 10 minutes of undivided attention can tell a child: “I’m here. I hear you. You matter.” 💛

🌱 Learning is more than books. It is play, expression, experience, and discovery. 💛

At Mayaa Daycare, we believe every child learns differently. That’s why we make learning fun, interactive, and meaningful—through play, visual activities, creativity, expression, and hands-on experiences.

✨ Through Early Childhood Development (ECD), we create a safe and joyful environment where children can explore, learn, and grow at their own pace.

Because when children are given the freedom to play, express themselves, ask questions, and discover, they build not only knowledge but also confidence, curiosity, and the courage to learn. 🌈

At Mayaa Nepal, we work towards creating better opportunities for children through education and health, helping them build a stronger and brighter future.

💛 Every child deserves the opportunity to learn. Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.

🌱🌾Growing Healthy Futures 🫶
At Mayaa Nepal’s Little Garden, we believe that every child deserves access to fresh, nutritious food. What begins as a small seed grows into something meaningful for the children at our daycare.🥬🌽🍆🥔🥑🍏
Our garden provides freshly harvested vegetables that are used to prepare nutritious meals for the children, while eggs from the project are boiled and served at breakfast - adding essential nutrients to their daily diet. 🥚
Beyond providing food, the Little Garden is helping children understand where their food comes from and encouraging healthy eating habits from an early age. 🌱👧👦

The students featured here come from Mahankal School, a long-standing Mayaa World partner located in the hills around Kathmandu.

Ganga, Binita and Sargham, pictured in image 2, were all sponsored by Mayaa and attending Mahankal School when this photo was taken. Binita (centre) comes from a challenging family background. Her mother struggled with alcohol addiction and passed away recently. Binita is the youngest of 12 children. Despite the organisation’s efforts to encourage the girls to continue their education, several of Binita’s older sisters married at a young age and were unable to complete their basic schooling. Similarly, Ganga’s (left) twin sister recently married and is no longer continuing her education.

Thank you @sophie.bonninrocher for showing us her exhibition, Where Hope Begins.

Her photographs are quiet, yet they tell stories.
Moments of school, of home, of everyday life of these people—simple scenes that reveal so much.

They remind us that hope often begins in small ways.
