Yesterday, the @mayedayfoundation joined @shawssupermarket and @starmarkets at Family Food Connections, Boston Children’s Hospital’s food pantry, to support families facing food insecurity.

Alongside hands-on volunteer service, the MayeDay Family Foundation announced a $100,000 gift made possible through the support of the Shaw’s and Star Market Foundation. Together, we're helping ensure families have access to the healthy, nutritious food children need to grow, heal, and thrive. 💙 Last year alone, Family Food Connections supported more than 72,000 family visits and distributed more than 165,000 pounds of food each month.

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and his wife, Ann Michael, helped make the start of the school year a little easier for dozens of educators in Providence.

According to a story published by the Patriots Wednesday morning, the couple, through their MayeDay Family Foundation, paid for the Amazon classroom wish lists of all 54 teachers and support specialists at Alfred Lima Sr. Elementary School.

School administrators were initially skeptical when they received a message saying Maye wanted to help. After confirming the offer was real, they kept it a secret from the staff and brought educators together under the impression they were attending an emergency meeting.

Instead, they were surprised with the news that their classroom wish lists had been taken care of. Principal Tonya Costa said some teachers were brought to tears.

The gift will directly benefit students at Alfred Lima Sr., a Title I school where school officials say 98% of students receive free or reduced-price lunch and more than 400 students are multilingual learners.

Maye launched the MayeDay Family Foundation earlier this year to help children and families in New England and North Carolina. In May, its celebrity softball event at Polar Park in Worcester raised more than $500,000.

The school is already planning a “Maye Day” next May to recognize Drake and Ann Michael and thank them for their generosity.

It was a thoughtful gesture by the couple and a great way to support Providence teachers while putting new classroom supplies directly into the hands of local students.

🚨‼️ UPDATE / ALERT ‼️🚨

Mia is still very much looking for a living liver donor. 💚

Apparently, someone hit the “match found” button a little too early. 😅

Due to a miscommunication, the status of Mia’s potential donor was mistakenly labeled as a match by the Lahey Liver Clinic. Because of that, some incredible people who had generously signed up to be evaluated were told that Mia had already found her donor.

That was incorrect.

Although Ben was being evaluated, his evaluation was never intended to close the search. After advocating for Mia and seeking clarification with her medical team regarding the risks associated with his donation, we learned the search should have remained open the entire time.

The search has now officially been reopened, and Mia is once again actively looking for a living liver donor.

To everyone who has completed a donor questionnaire, shared Mia’s story, or reached out wanting to help, thank you. Your willingness to step forward means more than we can put into words. Your support also helped us advocate for Mia and get to the bottom of this miscommunication.

So… the search is back on! (If you have previously submitted anything, be on the lookout for being contacted by Lahey)

Mia’s little liver has been putting up one heck of a fight while patiently waiting for their perfect teammate to tag in. Please keep sharing Mia’s story. It has helped so much! 💚🫶
