And just like that, our very first Matcha & Matches is officially in the books! Yay! Yay! Yay! ☺️🙌🏾 Today, we brought friendship speed dating to Lakewood, CA, and I couldn't be happier with how our first experience turned out! From the icebreakers to the laughter and conversations that continued even after the rounds ended, today was another reminder of why I love creating spaces for people to connect. Making friends as an adult isn't always easy, but sometimes all it takes is being willing to show up, step outside your comfort zone, and meet other individuals who are excited to meet you too 🫶🏾 A huge thank you to everyone who joined us today, @pa.dekwa for welcoming us into their beautiful café, and @boundstudiios for bringing the permanent jewelry experience! And for those who missed this one, don't worry, Cousin! We're just getting started because good news... Matcha & Matches is coming back November 21 and December 19! So if you've been looking for opportunities to make new friends in Long Beach, Lakewood, or the surrounding areas, consider this your heads-up! Early bird tickets will go live on Monday 😉 More details coming soon, but in the meantime, tell me: Which date are you joining us? Put it in the comments below 👇🏾 #LongBeachEvents #TheConnectionStrategist #FriendshipSpeedDating #LakewoodCA #LongBeachSocialEvents

There's a reason behind every experience I create, and Matcha & Matches is no different ❤️✨🔗 As The Connection Strategist™, I've always believed that genuine connections are essential to building stronger communities. But I've also realized that as adults, we don't always have the spaces or opportunities to meet new people and develop meaningful friendships. And sometimes, we're so focused on finding romantic love that we forget just how beautiful and fulfilling platonic relationships can be! That's part of what inspired me to create Matcha & Matches: A Friendship Speed Dating Experience 🫶🏾 I wanted to create something intentional, welcoming, and a little different. An experience where alcohol isn't necessary to have a good time, stepping outside your comfort zone is encouraged, and supporting local businesses like @pa.dekwa + @boundstudiios is part of bringing our community together. Because at the end of the day, I believe community is built through connection, and sometimes one conversation is all it takes to start a beautiful friendship 💕🤗 Swipe through to learn the six reasons behind Matcha & Matches, and if any of them resonate with you, share your thoughts in the comments below 💬 Matcha & Matches: A Friendship Speed Dating Experience 📍 Padekwa Cafe and Create 5841 Bellflower Blvd Lakewood, CA 🗓️ THIS Saturday, October 24 from 12:30–3:00 PM 🎟️ Tickets are $45 until 11:59 PM! 🚨 ENDORSEMENT ALERT‼️ I’m incredibly proud to have the support of the entire Lakewood City Council in my bid for re-election to the Bellflower Unified School District Board of Education! Lakewood has been a huge part of my life. I graduated from Lakewood High School, spent 10 years running a small business here, served three years as Chairman of the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, and four years as a City of Lakewood Safety Commissioner. Growing up, I always dreamed of one day buying a home in Lakewood, raising a family here, and finding a meaningful way to give back to the community that helped shape me. So when I say I’m living the dream as Lakewood’s voice on our School Board, I genuinely mean it. Having the support of our entire City Council is a tremendous point of pride for me. Not just because of the endorsement itself, but because it represents something I believe strongly in: the importance of collaboration between our city and our schools. We serve the same families, the same neighborhoods, and the same community. And when we work together, we can accomplish so much more for the people we represent. A huge thank you to @councilmemberjeffwood @david4lakewood @mayorcassandrachase @toddrogers4lakewood @rudyvillarreal2026 for your confidence, trust, and friendship. Lakewood is more than where I live. It’s home. And getting to serve this community and help shape its future is something I’ll never take for granted. 🧡💙

On September 23–24, 2026, WELL attended the League of California Cities (LOCC) Annual Conference in Anaheim, California! This year’s conference recognized several WELLos—graduates of WELL’s UnTapped Fellowship Program—who are serving in new and renewed leadership roles with the LOCC including: Teresa Acosta (City of Carlsbad, and Graduate of Class of 2025), President of League of California Cities, Cassandra Chase (City of Lakewood, and Graduate of Class of 2024) President, League of California Cities Women Caucus, Rachel Hernandez (City of Riverbank, and Graduate of Class of 2023) 1st Vice President, League of California Cities Women Caucus; and Jorgel Chavez (City of Bell Gardens, and Graduate of Class of 2022) North Regional Board Member, League of California Cities Latino Caucus. In addition, we also had the chance to connect with a few other graduates from WELL’s UnTapped Fellowship program: Sergio Jimenez (City of Monrovia and Graduate of Class of 2023); Alma Hernandez (City of Suisun, and Graduate of Class of 2024); Doriss Panduro (City of Fairfield, and Graudate of Class of 2024); Eduardo Martinez (City of Richmond, and Graduate of Class of 2018; Irais Lopez-Ortega (City of Calistoga, and Graduate of Class of 2019); Clint Weirick (City of Grover Beach, and Graduate of Class of 2025); Larry Spicer (City of Monrovia, and Graduate of Class of 2026); Frank Figueroa (City of Coachella, and Graduate of Class of 2024), Carmen Montano (City of Milpitas, and Graduate of Class of 2019), Jaime Patino (City of Union City, and Graduate of Clsss of 2025), and Sally Flowers (City of Artesia, and Graduate of Class of 2018). WELL hosted a booth where attendees tested their California water knowledge through Water Jeopardy and learned more about the UnTapped Fellowship Program, with the next fellowship beginning in January 2027. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and joined us for some water trivia! If you’re an elected official interested in learning more about UnTapped, click the link in our bio. #LeagueofCities #LOCC #LatinosinWater #CaliforniaWater #LeadersinCalifornia #CaliforniaLeadership

A pleasure to “Mosey with the Mayor” of Lakewood. Lakewood is a beautiful community filled with beautiful people. Thank you @jessiejoi99 for the introduction and support. An honor to have the opportunity to meet @councilmemberjeffwood, @mayorcassandrachase , @david4lakewood, and @rudyvillarreal2026 and the people of Lakewood! One of my favorite things about this campaign has been getting out to meet the people of LA county. Lakewood did not disappoint. #clayton4judge #losangelessuperiorcourt #lacounty #office65 #november3rd
