This week, join me and my guest, Meg, as we delve into her two vaginal birth experiences, with an extra special guest appearance from Aubrey, her 10 week old daughter! ☺️

Both of Meg’s births are beautiful examples of creating a more “natural” environment in a hospital with the help of a doula as your birth advocate. If you know you want a hospital birth but see the appeal of a peaceful home birth, this episode has lots of tips for how to create that experience in a hospital! 💫

Meg is a professional equestrian 🐎and did a lot of preparation for her first birth, from hiring a doula, to pelvic floor physical therapy, to yoga, in the hope of having an unmediated vaginal birth and being able to get back to riding as soon as possible postpartum. She details how she ended up getting an epidural during that birth and the struggle with connecting with her body, before ultimately giving birth to her son vaginally about 24 hours after arriving at the hospital.

She also opens up about dealing with postpartum depression and wishing she’d addressed it sooner, and then getting pregnant with her daughter while she was still breastfeeding her son. The plot twist with her daughter’s pregnancy and birth was that her daughter was transverse or breech 🦶🏻up until 38 weeks, and Meg explored different traditional and non-traditional ways to approach “breech release”. She talks about how her first birth experience left her a bit disappointed and disconnected from preparing for her second birth until the very end, when she received a few signs that it was time to tune back in with her body. Not long after, her daughter was born vaginally in a quick birth that didn’t leave time for an epidural, which felt scary at first, but ultimately became a beautiful, connected experience for Meg 🤍

Stableview was a great way to start off the season! Legend showed off what we have been working on over the winter with a couple things to polish up. We started off with a super dressage test to score a 29.1. Then went double clear in stadium and had some first show excitement out of the startbox to go clear around a fun xc course! We got to bring home a pretty third place ribbon! Legend and I were both so happy to be showing again and excited to start chasing those novice flags this season! Thank you @mbequestrian and my friends for a super fun show to start off the year!!

Just back from the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association Auto Torts Seminar in Isle of Palms, South Carolina! 🌴🏛️ Among the many insightful sessions, the legislative panel highlighted the critical importance of the right to a jury trial for Georgia citizens.

🗳️ Understanding the 7th Amendment: Your Right to a Jury Trial in Civil Cases ⚖️

Did you know that the 7th Amendment guarantees your right to a trial by jury in civil cases? 🤔 This key amendment ensures that disputes over money or property are decided by a group of your peers, not just a judge. 🏛️👥

Why is this important? A jury trial promotes fairness and impartiality, keeping the justice system accountable and protecting your rights. 🤝

So, next time you think about your rights, remember that the 7th Amendment ensures justice is served by a jury of your peers. 📜✨
