Anyway, if you want to hear the song and the entire EP go check out the link in my b!o! The music video drops at 5 PM today! #superfantastiche #newmusic #jamiroquai @preposterouspostings @georginataylormusic @mcintyre_derrick

An amazing experience to be invited to produce
Jamiroquai’s Dynamite album which was released 20 years ago today. Recorded in Buckinghamshire, Los Angeles and New York
The band was recorded to tape on two locked 24 track Studer A827s and then re-recorded off the play heads into Pro Tools at 96kHz (not easy in 2005). Recorded on Jay’s E Series SSL. I mixed in NY between a Neve VR and SSL 9000 and then finally everything went back through the E-Series on to 1/2 inch tape. I loved making this album.

I never share old demos, but this is an oldie a Track I wrote, produced & dueted with a friend, called 'SMILE'🎵 I had the privilege of Derrick @mcintyre_derrick putting his bass stamp on. The 1 take guy. He made whatever he put his fingers to simply come alive! 🎸🔥 We were in a band together back then, and we introduced each other to other artists & musicians in the game. He cut records with many artists, including @jamiroquaihq & @beverleyknight to name a few.

This is without any shadow of a doubt an incredibly hard pill to swallow. Losing another friend so tragically. Someone like Derrick, one of the most humble humans I've had the grace to cross paths with over 2 decades ago and call my friend. He just loved people without any hidden agenda. So pure and so rare.

We met at a fashionable and popular musicians & singers hang out in Camden back in the day, at small soul club called WKD. Where all manner of incredible musicians would come along and jam together. We just Clicked immediately.

As a budding drummer myself every time he saw me arrive he would always egg me on stage to play with him. It was from then on we formed a solid and mutual respect & admiration for each other. We could talk FOR HOURS and share crazy music stories and laugh hard. I was and still am a music hustler, always eager & hungry to learn from the best I could. More often not musicians who played on tour for superstars like Take That & George Michael, Chaka Chan would come and jam along, It was a pure vibes ✨

Our passion for music was the basis of our friendship. That never changed. Just blossomed more and more with years. We spoke recently & had planned on working on projects together, and I was just as excited as he was about it.

I will keep existing with the fondest of memories my brother.

Fly with the Almighty 🕊️

All my love
KB 💙

SparksNBling is devastated 💔 by the tragic death of a beautiful soul. Derrick was an excellent bass player and, more importantly, a lovely man. He was kind, supportive, funny, gracious, ever so humble, and so so much fun. We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Derrick's family, relatives, friends and everyone whose life he touched.

So sad to hear of Derrick McIntyre’s passing..

His Funky, Full Phat groove is all over this jam he’s driving from behind the brass..

You can literally FEEL his presence..

Gone but not forgotten.
