Oh, the joy in my heart. Seeing our school's work shared in the Big Top as a part of the @lunaparksydney 90th anniversary celebrations was a once-in-a-lifetime experience I will not forget. Everyone who worked on this should be proud. Teacher, student, faculty. Every. Single. Person. Well done @bradfieldsc . Love, your humble supervising editor, Shane.

Loved having the opportunity to be one of the music producers and composers behind “Dreamride”, a short film celebrating Luna Park’s 90th birthday. The film, created by the students at Bradfield Senior College, was screened throughout the day at Luna Park as part of the celebrations.
Huge congratulations to the students and teachers who brought this project to life, and a big thanks to Wade and Michael for making it possible. Glad to have been a part of it.

SCREEN AND MEDIA: Music video techniques

Screen and Media is the fortunate class that documents its own lessons. Even when the students aren’t working on projects, there are many lessons when cameras are rolling as students learn and experiment with equipment.

This reel from @kuxia_a compiles the footage from a class on music video techniques that Year 12 Screen and Media completed in term 2. The students were lucky to have a visit from Bradfield graduate @phlox.azure, who together with @mclennan_michael guided the students in playing with different visual techniques, including use of projections, video feedback loops, lens filters (kaleidoscope, halo, linear prism) and the Lensbaby crystal kit.

Screen and Media is a Certificate III that is available to Bradfield students, and also to external students through the TVET program.

Note: original music had to be replaced due to an erroneous copyright block.

GRADUATE ACHIEVEMENTS: Initiate-Connect

INITIATE-CONNECT is a Black Mirror-style science fiction film whose cast was largely comprised of Bradfield graduates and students, and which filmed in the school in 2022. Recently the film was showcased at the Perth Revelation International Film Festival as part of 'The Future is Now' shorts collection. The film will be released online later this year.

Loe Jones (@loe.lou.lo ), who graduated Bradfield in 2021 and studied film at university, was Production Assistant on the film and was able to attend one of the screenings in Perth over the last week.

Loe remarked of the screening: "Initiate:Connect was an absolute joy to work on, but there's something even more magical about seeing it on the screen. Being involved with talented creatives and watching how they work was one of the best experiences you could have. The love, sweat and tears that were put into the film were evident in the final product and truthfully resonated with what our world is like today. It was an intriguing take on AI and societal values."

The film was written, produced and directed by Michael McLennan, who teaches Screen and Media at Bradfield. Leading the cast were Bradfield graduates Laura Andersen, Elisabeth Kate and Jasmine Sarkis; alongside Michela Noonan and Lianne Mackessy.

Attached - the poster for the film (by @keeper_studio_ ); photos from the Perth screening; cast and crew photos; and several BTS stills taken by still photographer Henry Hu.
