Laying the Foundation ✅

Today’s training was all about building power and stability from the ground up.

We started with plyometrics doing broad jumps, triple bounds, and single leg bounds.

From there, we hit the weight room for some clean work, emphasizing technique and creating strong positions before adding heavy load.

Then we attacked some positional work with zombie squats and targeted the infamously undertrained psoas to build strength and control through the hip.

Finished the day with core work and nordics!

Lay the foundation of proper mechanics then build the strength!

Day 2 of teaching the Clean progression from last week.

Day 1, we started with the front squat and proper bracing before progressing into our start position and lift off.

Day 2, we continued building the foundation by coaching bracing, positioning, and introducing the hook grip. The hook grip is definitely going to take some getting used to, but it’s all part of the learning process!

Build comfortability in positions. Dial in the technique. Then add weight and speed on the bar.

Check out our top performers from baseline testing across all of our weights classes for our male athletes!

One thing to note: 0 Period Football did not complete the 40-yard dash or 300-yard shuttle. We’re excited to have the 40 added to their testing in November and see how they stack up on the leaderboard! 📈

Now we have our starting point. Time to get to work and see the progress in November!

‘26 OF/LHP Brooks Porter (McQueen)

One of Nevada’s top Uncommitted bats in the 2026 Class clutches up with a sharp single to RF to bring in Culbertson and put the Lancers up in the 6th. A two-sport athlete and standout at the Reno Preseason ID that we project could make an early impact at the next level #BeSeen
