What do you mean San Diego was two weeks ago? I'm still mentally at this concert. Probably the best impulsive decision of my life. I got to have my first solo trip, met some of my amazing discord buddies, and sang and danced my heart out to my favorite band. I don't think I'm prepared for what's about to go down at the Hollywood Bowl shows. After last night's show (that announcement for MCR 5????) I don't even know what to expect.

MCR San Diego was a dream I don’t want to wake from. The show was incredible, the lore is insane, the b-set ruined my life in ways unthinkable to the human mind.

But what’s really gonna stick in the years to come is the people. This fandom is full of some of the kindest, most creative, genuine, weirdest and realest people I’ve ever met. from my online mutuals who’ve become IRL friends to all the cool people I traded trinkets with, took pictures with, geeked out over cosplays and made this day what it was. Never lose sight of what this band means to us and always be your truest self no matter who tries to put you down.

Extra thanks to @thecountyvampire @frankieroftw @momchemicalromance @mcrmyofficial y’all are the real MVPs.

My Chemical Romance is the only band ever. To the death!

Before arriving at @mychemicalromance 's show at Nissan Stadium tonight, the @mcrtransflag is making a pit stop at the Center for Popular Music, one of the oldest and biggest archives of American popular and vernacular. (This includes My Chemical Romance CDs and DVDs as well as books and magazines about them.)

This flag features stories and signatures from transgender and gender non-conforming fans of My Chemical Romance and will be proudly carried by CPM librarian Logan at tonight's concert.

never been good at taking pictures at an event so here’s an @emocon2026 archive by other means (but what is emo if not trying to make tangible the ephemerality of feeling). no other academic conference has ever been so warm and welcoming. no other conference has been so radically open, nor so joyfully, unabashedly undisciplined. i met old friends. i made new ones. emocon felt, in many, multiple ways, like home. drawing from @stevelamos’s tremendously generative and generous keynote & the feeling of returning home, here’s a postcard home from emocon 2026: wish you were here. write lots, write vicious, write back soon. all my love to my midwest emos. see y’all at the next one 🖤

emo con 2026 was research and life affirming. when i changed my dissertation topic to emo i was afraid that no one would care about my little obsession in my corner of the internet. meeting folks irl that care about music, liberation and community care FOR ALL was not only inspiring but uplifting. thank you to everyone who made @emocon2026 happen 🖤
