#KONER - When you’re not racing - it’s busy AF
- Worked for @slowtwitch
- On stage for underpants run (dream come true)
- Failed Mauna Kea by 1%
- Saw all my industry friends and RTS partners
- Trained a good bit
- One square meal per day

I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I made my rounds as an athlete, influencer, hype man, fan boy, CEO, videographer and general idiot. Time to get my ass to Kona as an athlete before I retire.

Thanks for the good times - seriously, had a blast.

I’ve spent a lot of my life trying to be the athlete people were watching.

This week, I got to spend some time supporting them.

And I realized I love this sport and even when I’m not racing.

These are my peers. My competitors sometimes. My friends always.

People who have built their lives around an idea that never made much sense to the rest of the world: that maybe life isn’t supposed to look the way we were told it should be.

So we train. We travel. We race. We create. We tell stories. We build businesses and communities around a sport that asks an unreasonable amount from the people who love it.

Not everyone who helps move triathlon forward is standing on the start line.

Sometimes our job is to point the camera toward the people who are.

To tell their stories.
To celebrate their talent.
To show people just how extraordinary the humans inside this sport really are.

I’m still an athlete. I’ll always want to compete and I’m still going fast.

But I’m realizing there’s something pretty special about using whatever platform I have to make this sport, and the people who give their lives to it, feel a little bigger.

Because maybe the thing that connects all of us isn’t racing.

Maybe it’s that none of us were particularly interested in living an ordinary life.

IRONMAN World Championship week. 🌺

Mauna Kea Summit ☠️ 🛑 did not happen….here’s why:

- Attempted a self supported ~ 6 hr attempt
- Ended up only taking 70g carbs per hour…2.75 liter liquid
- Gravel section was so slippery on 40psi 29c tires…mega torque
- Sweating like a hostage on the climb

Lessons learned:
- Must have 4x4 sag vehicle / at least 100g carbs per hour
- At least 2 bottles per hour
- 32c tires with sidewall tread
- Better gearing for 10%+ grades

Made it 5h52m / 13,000 ft / 62 miles

Thanks for the company @mdubrick7 and @theewynn for coming to get us once we died.
