Throwing it way back to our amazing first event of the year at Fitler Club, featuring the hilarious (and fellow Virgo queen) @keke Palmer and the sensational @tierrawhack 🎉

✨ Big shoutout to @harrietts_bookshop for partnering up with us and to the fantastic crew at @fitlerclub for co-hosting the night.

The vibe was 🔥, the chat was super engaging, and I really loved her new book! So grateful to have connected with so many fascinating people—can’t wait for our paths to cross again soon! 🌟

🌿 Exciting conversations at the Fitler Club! 🎙️ For two years, The Inquirer has been collaborating with Fitler to host an enlightening speaker series, exclusive for our subscribers and members. Recently, our very own civics reporter Henry Savage (@mediabyhenry) led a thought-provoking discussion on cannabis legalization in Pennsylvania. 💬

Our expert panelists included:

🌱 Cherron Perry-Thomas: Cofounder of Philadelphia’s Black Cannabis Week and social impact leader at DACO. @munashe97

🌱 Gibran Washington: CEO of Ethos Cannabis, right here in Philadelphia! @theethosceo

🌱 Tony Minitti: Innovator behind Camden Apothecary, blending the worlds of pharmacy and cannabis dispensary. @camdenapothecary

We have more fascinating conversations on the horizon this year. Interested in joining us for the next one? Let me know!

Huge thanks to @mediabyhenry and @phillyinquirer for shining a light on our insect-forward menu items! Chef Dionicio grew up eating chapulines and other edible insects, so it was only natural for him to bring that tradition to our Cantina la Martina menu.

And let’s just say… the timing of this article couldn’t possibly be more perfect. We might have a pretty exciting announcement coming soon that ties directly into this *very* topic.

That’s all we can tell you for now, but if you’re intrigued, stay tuned. 😉🦗

All I want is a clean and honest match with @anthpo. Fair and square in the ring. Representing Philadelphia I will train hard and grind to the last round. I may be weak and fragile but I have grit and determination.

As an elder millennial who grew up watching people get slimed on Nickelodeon’s “You Can’t Do That on Television” and “Double Dare,” Inquirer columnist Stephanie FarrI’ve always wanted to know what it feels like to get covered in neon green goo.

So when she was pitched a chance to experience Philly’s newest immersive team-building experience, @beatthebomb, which opened mid-October and bills itself as a real-life video game where teams get doused with slime, paint, or foam if they lose, Farr saw it as perhaps the only opportunity she would ever have to fulfill this strange childhood dream.

In order to play, you need a team of four to six people. Farr asked her colleagues on The Inquirer’s features desk — Henry Savage, Rosa Cartagena, and Sam Ruland — and social media manager Esra Erol (who came to shoot video but got sucked into the game) to get slimed with her in the name of journalism.

With the warm weather and spring planting learn how to garden with native plants, where to buy them, expert tips and much more by staffers Henry Savage, Anton Klusener, and Jessica Griffin, and with illustrations by Goda Trakumaite for The Philadelphia Inquirer in print and on Inquirer.com.

• WILD BERGAMONT, a member of the mint family and also known as “bee balm,” is prized by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for its medicinal properties for humans and its benefits to bees during pollination. Its vibrant pink and lavender flowers emit a soft fragrance, making it an ideal ornamental plant for native gardens, with nectar that attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, and pollinating bees. It thrives best in sunny and dry locations.

• WILD BLUE PHLOX. This smaller pale lavender, blue, or pink flower is a manageable and easy-growing plant. Wild blue phlox provides a sweet floral fragrance and showy flowers that attract all sorts of butterflies, moths, and bees. Perfect for a gardener looking for something low-maintenance, as it is drought-tolerant and adaptable. Best planted in partly sunny, shady, or partly shady, moist areas.

• HOARY MOUNTAIN MINTS delight pollinators and humans alike. Hoary mountain mint’s edible leaves and flowers can be used for herbal teas and add ample scent for potpourri. Best planted in sunny and moist areas. (Bonus mountain mint to grow: short-toothed mountain mint, Pycnanthemum muticum.) Unlike their “true mint” counterpart, which can be problematic if left unchecked, mountain mints might outcompete their floral neighbors in growth, but they won’t aggressively take over a garden.

• CULVER'S ROOT, with its tall, white-spired flowers, appeals to pollinators even at night, thanks to its summer-blooming white flowers. It adapts well to various soil and light conditions, preferring sunny and moist areas.

• BLAZING STAR is a tall native plant with vibrant purple plume-like flowers, attracting butterflies and charming garden visitors. Best planted in sunny and dry areas.
