The Burger Bear On The Loose In Springdale! 🐻 I recently had an article published in Springdale City Lifestyle highlighting some of my favorite places to grab a burger in Springdale!🍔 Springdale has a pretty impressive burger scene, and I thought it deserved a little recognition. If you're craving a classic burger, it's hard to beat Patrick's or Westside. Pleasant Counter has absolutely mastered the smashburger, and Gaskins on Emma serves some fantastic burgers on its weekday lunch menu that a lot of people don't know about. I also love what Na'guara is doing by bringing bold Latin flavors to the burger game and putting their own unique spin on it. 😋 One update since the article was written: Ray Dubbz has relocated to southern Arkansas. It was home to one monster of a cheeseburger, and I'm glad I got to include it before the move. WOW! What an amazing week! Just a couple of weeks ago, I rode 200 miles in Bend, OR to support this cause - Over 120 incredible humans I’m proud to call my friends, showed up in Bend, took on the climbs, braved the heat and the pain, and left with rosy cheeks and aloe vera on order.  Dedication, perseverance, extreme commitment to the cause, and plain old stubbornness got us through it together and with Chefs Cycle 2026 for No Kid Hungry officially wrapping up, and thanks to generous supporters like you, we’re so close to the finish line. I’m proud to say that together, our Chefs Cycle community has already raised over $1.2M to help provide over 12 million meals to kids facing hunger this summer. Summer should be a time for fun - but for millions of kids, it’s also the hungriest time of year. That’s why I joined Chefs Cycle: to help No Kid Hungry make sure every child has access to the food they need when school meals aren’t available. BUT WE’RE NOT DONE YET! Ten years ago, I was new to a leadership role with Kimpton Restaurants & Bars when three Santa Barbara chefs, @chefsiao , @damien_giliberti , and @chamwow , invited me to do something called @chefscycle . At the time, I had zero cycling experience. What I did have was a desire to build relationships with my new colleagues, take on a challenge that seemed completely out of reach, and support a cause aligned with an industry that had given me so much. So I said yes. I had no idea that one decision would turn into a decade-long journey. This week, I completed my 8th Chefs Cycle, and what made this year especially meaningful was sharing the road once again with the three chefs who started it all. After stepping away following the 2019 ride to focus on marriages, families, and careers, they returned to Bend this year, and plan to be back again next year. Over the years, I’ve also been fortunate to share this journey with incredible friends and returning riders like @saul_rosenberg_pro_eater , @_bobbygonzalez , @drinksmithjim , and @chefpatrickprager . This year we welcomed first-time riders @colintmac , @saritalovesunshine , and @l_lopresti8 , who embraced the challenge and the mission from day one. That’s one of the beautiful things about Chefs Cycle. Someone invites you in. You discover you’re capable of more than you thought. Before long, you’re the one inviting others along. Bend delivered once again: perfect weather, spectacular scenery, and two unforgettable days on the bike. More importantly, this incredible community of riders, volunteers, sponsors, supporters, friends, and families helped raise more than $1.25 million (and counting) for @nokidhungry . The ride may be over, but the mission continues. Fundraising remains open through June 18. Thanks to the generosity of friends, family, and colleagues, I’ve raised just over $3,000 so far and am still chasing my personal goal. If you’ve already donated, thank you. If you’ve been considering it, there’s still time. Most of all, I’m grateful. Grateful for old friends.

This past week was a trip! Part one, we had chefscycle. This was my first year attending and it was absolutely amazing. The community that this event brings together for such an amazing cause is something so special. We laughed, we sweat, we rode 200 miles. Most importantly we have raised 1.2 million to help stop childhood hunger. I’m honored to have had the opportunity to be a part of it!

These are the days, where lives can all be changed. Not just by riding, learning, sharing and being endlessly inspired by these epic, wonderful, shiny, hilarious and relentless human beings - and not the only the riders, but the entire teams of Share our Strength, No Kid Hungry, Chef’s Cycle; the cowbell-ringing always-there volunteers, sponsors, partners, family and friends; everyone who supported with donations, time, and of course the sweaty miles with never-ending smiles. It was such an honor to donate rabbit to the 2nd annual @nokidhungry Chef’s Night fundraising dinner last night 🤍 Huge thank you to Chef @meetsamwalker & the team at @gaskins_on_emma for putting on such an incredible event & allowing Natural State Rabbit to be part of this meaningful menu that helped raise $29k for No Kid Hungry 🫶🏼🐇 And a huge shoutout to guest chef @cheflambo1891 & his Yellow Team who cooked with our rabbit & turned it into a delicious 2nd course of Rabbit Croquettes 💛 Delicious! #NoKidHungry

Last night’s Chefs Dinner was a reminder of what happens when the food community shows up with purpose. It was an honor to be part of an evening that brought so many talented chefs together in support of @nokidhungry , all rallying around one shared mission to making sure kids have reliable access to meals.
