I had so much fun designing the identity for the @graphicdesignfalmouth degree show!

My concept surrounds the idea of revealing what’s been going on behind closed doors. The visual identity involves a simple fold which reveals a word. My coursemates all chose a word which they feel summarises what ‘Design is…’ and I curated a variety of fifty different posters with the words.

Thanks you to all the wonderful people who helped me put this all together!

This week I’ve had the absolute pleasure of volunteering at @designfestbrum

It’s been a jam packed week of lectures, chats, portfolio reviews, ticket scanning, sweet treats and meeting likeminded people from all over the country!

This year’s theme of ‘change’ couldn’t have come at a better time as I take my next steps into the design industry - I have been truly inspired by every single person I’ve heard from.

Hopefully see ya next year ✌🏼

This study block, we’ve had the pleasure of running our project ‘portraits of us’ with the many visitors from the design industry we’re lucky enough to meet as part of our course.

We believe that the industry connections and sense of community is what makes our course at falmouth special: ‘portraits of us’ documented the diversity of this and allowed us to get to know our visitors better as we enter the design industry ourselves.

Each visitor created a self-portrait using the set of stamps we created. We loved getting to know everybody!!!

What does home mean to you? 🏠💬

At @heligangardens Homecoming Festival, @meg.c_makes hosted a unique fundraiser called Creation and Conversation. Over the three-day event, Megan caught the attention of passers-by whilst crocheting, and invited people to join in on meaningful conversations about the feeling of home and the reality of homelessness.

Each conversation was represented by various colours of yarn. By the end of the festival, those conversations had created a long, vibrant scarf, an important item which gives warmth and comfort to people throughout the winter months 🧣

Megan created this video to capture those conversations, give the project a lasting legacy, and inspire even more conversations about what home truly means 💛

Megan shared:

"The conversations I had with people were hugely varied- some shared life stories, some only single words. But what unified them all were their themes of unity, safety and connection- all things that align with what St Petrocs aim to provide for their clients and communities."

We want to share a huge thank you to Megan for raising vital funds to support our work, and for beginning important conversations, which is a huge step in raising awareness of homelessness in Cornwall 💛👏

A roundup of makers week and The Studio Society Degree Shop 2025!

The support for this project has been amazing, with all year groups coming together to showcase and sell some incredible work.

Together, we managed to raise an amazing £185.57 for The Children’s Hospice South West. @childrenshospicesw

Huge thanks to the superb organisation of @nbuffalo & @ashleyrudolph_pics for making it all possible, and to all the amazing Falmouth staff team for facilitating a brilliant few days. Also thanks to @abbey_bamford_ of @creativeboom for getting stuck in, and to @megmardondesign & @elliecryer for assisting 💕

First and second year students are now working collaboratively on briefs set by the speakers, who are excited to return in a few weeks time to see the outcomes! A great partnership further solidified, bringing industry and education together 🙌
