@nceca thank you for a platform to show works that sre very special to me.

@meg_morley_ , @ceramics_x_fiber. @duofineartservices , @jblackwellstudio and @shastakrueger ,it was awesome working with you and making this concept come to life. Our pairing was definitely uncanny and it's awesome to see how someone else approaches similar ideas in a totally different medium.

I'll be posting more about my upcoming solo show that was rescheduled after a long NCECA 26'. ✌🏿

“It Worked” (Knitted Clay 7): This work was made by knitting clay wrapped in muslin rather than working with slip. It has a true cast on, is made with 1 continuous piece of “clay yarn” and a real cast off stitch.

I think the magic of believing in oneself comes from creating and sharing….its so scary, it’s so vulnerable, and it’s so magical when others feel and respond to your authentic outpouring love of what you do.

So….do you….and you will receive the right love back to you. ❤️

Last day of Student Based Learning (“camp” to me), students were crocheting and walking at the same time, crocheting during breakfast, lunch, and dinner, like it was normal….I’m so touched, so grateful beyond words because I love that they love crochet. 🙏🏼

From the last minute of everyone gathering around for one final crochet session, to very messy moments, crocheting outdoors and with a bald eagle soaring above us (not photographed- just missed it!) to the beginning before students arrived……and Wings of Encouragement I hand brought to everyone by @aliciamersy no doubt ! 💚

What an incredible week! @haystack_school

The most beautiful experience to be invited to teach crochet at @haystack_school for Student Based Learning for various near-by high school students who choose their focus of study to learn a new skill….I’m so lucky to have met other faculty artist teachers such as Taylor @jacobtaylorgibson, Aminata @aminomnom, Julie @objandtotem, Julie for woodworking, and Erin @erinmcross to be here to teach, support, encourage and inspire these students to focus on what they love and dive deeper into the artists they aspire to be.

I’m humbled to have gained the relationships with the students who chose crochet as their study and truly gave it their all, with individual custom wants and interests, I really loved every minute of teaching and guiding you!

To all of the chaperones who are full-time teacher-staff to these high schools..wow! What an honor to know you and see you live the love of craft and encourage everyone in front of you.

I’m so so beyond words grateful to have had Meg @meg_morley_ help assist me, whom I met 5 years ago through @tatterbluelibrary and @toast online as a participant of a crochet workshop I taught. Her message after that struck me beyond imagination, I followed her work thereafter. We stayed in touch, followed one another’s artistic practices and with this opportunity, it was meant to be to finally meet in person!

Lastly, I don’t have enough words, thank you so much to @haystack_school for inviting me to be included in such a memorable experience in front of so many individuals. For so many reasons, I am so moved, I know so much of why I do what I do- crochet- create- teach- & share- which is rewarding and such hustle, but so many words and feelings of why I create- is to share what I love- and that is to teach. I’m so glad to share it. I hope that those 13 students had the experience they needed and probably didnt even know they wanted- continues and stretches beyond our scope of art and understanding- to push limits and expectations.

I hope crochet brings joy to everyone who got to experience it first hand, even view it from afar, and I hope handmade changes everyone’s aspect of today’s world and needs of what we do each day.

Baskets!!!

I got the incredible opportunity to go to Arrowmont and I couldn’t have picked a better class to take. I’ll definitely be using what I’ve learned to make more baskets and who knows what else.

I still have no idea how I made THIS MUCH STUFF in FIVE DAYS but I’m not complaining!! Thank you to everyone who made this possible :)

A very full day at the Ann Arbor Fiber Expo. So many people who visited my table was intrigued with the “wet felting process, and surely came away with me teaching them about man first fabric. I had books, magazines, sample to touch and feel the magic of “Wool felts”… along first time buyers of the beautiful art form. Education will always be a way I create and teach others. Shout out to @meg_morley_ for her beautiful hand tassels I invested in a year ago to embellish my wools and the @fiberclubdetroit members who stop by for support.
