Last Sunday at a beautiful local park, my head was shaved at an event I held called Threads of Hope. A number of families gathered together to support one another, eat food together, and to gift a local family over $5000 that we have raised over 2 months. My head was then shaved as a symbol of this family’s bravery. There were many reasons behind this shave: ⭐️ Since the beginning of last year I want to do something big and bold, something that scared me and was a step outside my comfort zone. ⭐️ I don’t know what it feels like to walk through childhood cancer, disability, surgeries, hospital stays and the uncertainty that comes with them. So I chose to be uncomfortable and brave for them, to donate my hair and stand beside brave families who have been through immense challenges. ⭐️ Hair can carry so much — identity, femininity, confidence, insecurity and even a sense of control. Shaving it was a tangible reminder that often we have to let go of what we can control and trust God with what we can’t. ⭐️ So that people would ask, “Why did you shave your head?” And so that an unseen story could come into the light and turn into a conversation. ⭐️ My hair will be donated to help make a wig for someone experiencing medical hair loss, i have let it go to gift it and let it become something meaningful for someone else. ⭐️ And most importantly, for hope. Because hair grows back. Hard seasons don’t last forever. And even when life looks completely different from what we imagined, there can still be beauty, love, community and hope woven through it. If you would like to donate to this beautiful famous, I am keeping the GoFundMe page up and running until Sunday 4th Oct. Please head to linktr.ee/meira.co for more details. Jes ⭐️

My shirt used to say “there is no planet bee” Now it says #mumlife 😜 But back to the plan - you’re pregnant with your first baby and you want to enjoy it right? Everyone keeps saying it’s hard but what does that mean and what do you need to make it NOT hard?! Well, a plan is what you need - a plan for if everything goes sideways. A plan for if baby comes early. A plan for if your mother in law rocks up unannounced. A plan for if breastfeeding gets tricky. And someone to help you figure this out. 👋 🙋‍♀️ hey! Hi there! I’m Jasmine (aka The Bayside Doula) and I’ve been helping women prepare for postpartum for over 4 years while raising two of my own cherubs and wishing I could go back in time to be more prepared myself! Postpartum planning is the difference between the newborn months that hit you like a bus, and the type of fourth trimester you feel good about, that feels nourishing and predictable. The Postpartum Blueprint is the hand-holding you need to turn all the information into actionable steps that lead to support, care, and healing in postpartum. Enrol now - early bird pricing ends tomorrow! Comment BLUEPRINT for the link.
