Thank you to our Giving Circle members and friends for joining us for lunch on Wednesday in NYC. We proudly hosted The Sates Project Founder, Daniel Squadron and Manhattan borough president, Brad Hoylman-Sigal to discuss Daniel’s book, The Fourth Branch. Daniel and Brad worked together as NY state Senators in Albany. They shared stories about working in state leg and discussed the book. They also reminded us why we have been working to build Democratic majorities for 8 years!

Bottom line - everything that affects our day to day lives, can be made better by state governments. Including: Voting rights, Repro rights, healthcare, affordable housing, and more! We’ve seen this in Michigan, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Maine, and Nevada to name a few!

Our states - MI and WI hold the future of our democracy in their hands. We need to flip seats and protect seats in this election to ensure fair elections in 2028. We can’t wait.

Thank you to our donors. If you haven’t donated this year yet, we hope you will! If you’re a first timer - welcome and thank you. Let’s make a time to talk!

We are getting close to our goal and we still have the Fall match, so your contribution is doubled and means so much! Every amount helps. Please donate and tell your friends. This is something concrete you can do in addition to voting!

DM us if you want us to present to you or a room of your best friends. We must do more than vote - to protect our democracy.

Make real change with your spare change.

The midterms are coming? No. They are here.
It’s hard to feel like you can make any difference. I get it.
But you know who gives me hope and makes me want to open my wallet for democracy? @statesprojectus

They are focused on shifting the balance of power on the state level. Is it as sexy as donating to the big senate campaigns? No! But those gutsy don’t need your money.

My ask: you go to my bio and donate to our giving circle. $3-$5. That’s less than your morning coffee.
I know a lot of you can do it.
You talk the talk. Now walk the walk.
Your future self and future generations will thank you
(I’m not even being hyperbolic)

Thanks in advance.

State lawmakers can:

💰 Lower the cost of your groceries and utilities
📚 Fund public schools
🩺 Protect your freedom to make your own healthcare decisions

And YOU can build governing power for state lawmakers who are ready to deliver real policies that improve real lives.

Because here’s what almost nobody knows: it is often cheaper to flip an entire state legislature than to win one congressional seat.

You heard @melissacwalker, State Leg Summer School is in session! 📝

State legislatures are stepping up to solve the issues that impact our everyday lives most. But they can only do so when they have governing power.

Join us all summer to learn more about how state lawmakers can keep our water clean, our electricity bills in check, and how you can help ensure lawmakers who are improving lives have the power they need to keep doing so.

How do you get thousands of everyday citizens to care about an invisible political system?

You stop pitching the system, and you start telling a better story.🗺️

On the latest episode of #ProfessionalJealousy, Anomaly's Chief Innovation Officer @natashajakubowski sits down with @statesprojectus co-founder Daniel Squadron and Head of Giving Circles @melissacwalker. They reveal why the ultimate hack for American democracy lives in state capitols—where races are won by a handful of votes and your dollar has 10x the impact.
