Night After Night
Dir. Josh Lobo
Exclusive screener following the world premiere at Chattanooga Film Festival 18 June 2026

The lives of two overnight security guards at a private university begin to unravel after the appearance of a mute figure who returns each night without explanation.

Coming hot on the heels of their feature debut I Trapped The Devil, Writer/Director Josh Lobo’s Night After Night hits all the right notes. This genre bending film premiered at Chatanooga Film Festival 18 June and could best be described as a psychological horror thriller, with a sci-fi edge.

Night After Night defies familiar conventions of modern-day filmmaking. On paper the story seems clear, acting as an homage to conspiracy thrillers of the 1970’s. Yet during the viewing you’re thrown into many loops as we experience a series of disruptive visuals, from technical glitches on screen to figures and voices who appear and disappear at a moment’s notice. Then there’s the mysterious mute figure…

You can see Lobo’s sci-fi and dystopian influences throughout the film; I felt this could have sat wonderfully within a world coded by The X-Files if it were directed by David Lynch. The mystery elements in Night After Night are ultimately captivating. Scott Poythress and Johnny Sibilly shine in their co-leading roles as their respective characters navigate a minefield of illusion and distrust in their own senses.

I’m obsessed with Simon Waskow’s score. It’s as disrupting and invasive as the visuals whilst being utterly captivating. Keep your eyes peeled on the tagged accounts for details on upcoming screenings and release dates; this is one not to miss. Thank you to The Bex Company for allowing me to review Night After Night following its world premiere at Chattanooga Film Festival.
