@theotherfudge is one of my favorite artists of all time and he did a meditative groove attack inside the pages of Dream Drops. Thank you Travis 🩵 !! This is inspiring me to go back into my own coloring book, and get looser with my colored pencil lines. These are so good 🙌🏻

Matt Winkel @plausd 💛 I love seeing everyone’s choices and styles. Like Matt just choosing these greens and yellows (with splashes of red) instead of using every color in the box.

The incredible @rebekkah_drake colors it up! Her own work is so vibrant and color rich, so it’s really sweet to see her bring that into the coloring book. Thanks Rebekkah ! Love these, Mel

Mo’e in the zone…Yes !! The orders are arriving in mailboxes and this is the first pic i’ve seen of the coloring book in action. It’s the start of what will be… the coolest of part of this project. Watching what everyone does with it. Mo’e is 21 yrs old, she’s my friend’s daughter, and she just made my day … because this is amazing !!

The brilliant collaborative show BLUR is sadly coming to a close. BUT TONIGHT, August 25th from 6-9PM @preachergallery, please come join us as we celebrate the work of seven unmistakably talented women with a proper reception closing party!

BLUR features original work by Han Cao, Emily Geirnaert, Diana Sudyka, Mel Kadel, Marcella Colavecchio, Abi Daniel, and Jana Swec, BLUR brings together seven different perspectives, moving through memory, nature, identity, storytelling, and imagination. Each artist brings her own distinct voice and way of making.

A huge thank you to Better Half and Hold Out Brewing @betterhalfbar @holdoutbrewing for so generously sponsoring the show and helping us bring tonight to life. Give them a shout and show some love for being part of our gallery and creative communities - we are truly grateful.

So please join for one last look (or maybe your first look if you missed it), a nice drink, and a little art before we close the doors on BLUR. Invite friends, families, dogs… All welcome, all ways.

And lease follow these amazing talents we have been so fortunate to present: @hanwriting @miloo_inside @tinyaviary @melkadel @marcellaispainting @hoarsefly and @janaswec. Absolute creative heroes all of them.

Last call for “Blur” at @preachergallery tonight! There are gallery hours today from 12-4, and a closing party from 6-9. This painting is called “The Fountain”, swipe to see some process shots from the easel it lived on for about two years.

Thanks to @latimes and writer Jessica Gelt for including Dream Drops in LA Times Essential Arts! Jessica talks about my new coloring book and also takes a step back to a very special time & place in Los Angeles 💙 (Link of article in bio).

Jessica is an old friend. She was in one of coolest bands around. If you were in Los Angeles 25+ years ago, and stepped into the indie-rock scene, you’ll remember the Movies ! Jessica touches on a really special time for all of us when we circled around each other and bounced creativity off each other. The inspiration was contagious. We were all young & wild(er), and it was super magical ⭐️
Thank you Jess ❤️❤️
