At this point with half the year gone, I wonder if I’ll ever be on time with documenting on the grid. So as we reach the end of June - here is stuff that happened in May.

2) A very important meeting at the Shim Sham with Bong Jovi. We are still seeing results of said meeting.

3) Amelia winning Shit Show Bingo!

4-5) The D line extension opened and Los Angeles has seemed more alive ever since. We took our first ride to Wilshire / La Cienega the night it opened. Now I take this to work. I’ve only driven to work three times since the D has opened.

6-7) Amelia’s first visit to Frank N Hank’s!

8) Mel and Welly visited Uncle Ollie’s!

9-11) The Egan family trip was much needed relaxation.

12) Gary Baseman had a show at Johnnie’s on Wilshire and Fairfax

13-14) We celebrated Amelia’s birthday at La Cita!

16-19) went to Portland for my cousin’s Bat Mitzvah, ran into old friends, and enjoyed so much of the city. Need to make more visits to PDX.

20) the judges and winners of May’s Gong Show Karaoke nights.

What a month!

Wish insta let me tag more.

These incredible little connections we have to our ancestors feel so alive sometimes. Little moments pop up that bring things full circle.

Mama saw this picture of Great Grandpa Christian Martin Hansen today for the first time and shared it with me. It made my heart flutter.

His father, Hans Hansen, was a Danish sea captain. 🚢🇩🇰 A few years ago, Ollie and I traveled to Hans’ hometown in Denmark to pay our respects.

And, to top it off, coincidentally I painted a ship in honor of them years ago—and lo and behold, here’s this photo of Chris Hansen standing in front of a clipper ship looking eerily similar to the one I made before ever seeing this!!

Sometimes our ancestors send little signals across time—it folds in on itself for a moment and the generations meet. ✨❤️✨

ALL THE WAY FROM L.A...

MEL & TEDDY'S COCKTAIL TAKEOVER!

Our Mel's pal Teddy is over visiting from LA and they are gonna bring some good times and special cocktails to our Friday at MEC.

Expect Tapache, Hibiscus Margaritas and drinking loads of tequila.

They will be serving from 3-8. Come say howdy!

It’s Sunday with Mel, Kat and Les! And to end the weekend on a high we have a competition: Best caption for the first image wins 2 pickled eggs! 😱 💯🥚 🔥🔥🔥🔥

We have a beautiful keg selection and the slushies are brimming, come say hi!

It's a Bloody Maria and Twister Slushie kinda day. Finely crafted cocktails by Mel all day (or until she finishes then it's pints and Black Sabbath with Alisha and Joseph)

Sundays are lush in MEC, come see for yourself.

Between California, Nebraska, England, and Sweden..It’s never easy getting everyone in one place—like herding cats! 🥹

But, when some of us can get together, it happens in the blink of an eye. Only half of us really, but a whole lot of love—grateful for every minute and being able to squeeze in a last minute drive down. I love our family ❤️
