Tarot as story .. tarot as expression of emotion & meaning & magic 💚
The deeper I dive into Tarot, the more my love of words & speaking them aloud is reawakened ✨
I was given Hekate by @nikita_gill as a gift and only a few pages in, it’s got me good .. so before I disappear for the rest of the day into its pages, this is for all you lovely people who recognise its sentiment 👁️
And for any new followers,
I am Liss 🐝
You can find me here for all things Tarot, mystical & witchy & at @melysbee for all the acting, voicing & wordy malarkey 💚

The Flower by Katie Walker-Cook @katie_walker_cook 🌸

Katie Walker-Cook writes for stage, radio and screen. Her short plays have been performed at the Bristol Old Vic, Arches Lane Theatre, the Minack Theatre and Theatre503. Her words have aired on BBC Radio 4’s The Skewer and BBC Radio Scotland’s Breaking the News.

“Keepsakes” is a triptych of short films exploring how everyday objects can become totems of our deepest hopes and griefs. “The Flower” is the second of the three. In it, a single, dried flower is a woman’s only link to a past she longs for.

A Tidy Ending by Joanna Cannon
Linda is our 43 year old narrator. She and All-Fingers-And-Thumbs-Terry are boringly and unhappily married. Linda describes Terry’s faults in detail, which is very funny as are the comments she makes about her overbearing mother. The story starts with Linda in some type of care facility without telling us why. She takes us back several weeks when young women start being murdered and Terry began acting odd. More odd than usual. The story goes back and forth between then and now. Linda’s sarcastic observations are hysterical. But who the heck is killing these young women and why?

The narrator for Linda on the audio version is perfect and sounded just how I’d expect Linda to sound. Definitely listen to it on audio if you can and listen to the interview at the end with the author and narrator. I absolutely loved that the narrator was the inspiration for Linda! This is a story that is especially well written and narrated. I give it my highest recommendation.

“But the thing is with mother, you can only stomach so much of her in one go. A bit like a strong cheddar.”
