𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭: 𝐓𝐨𝐜𝐨 🇧🇷
𝐀𝐥𝐛𝐮𝐦: 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐨 𝐋𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐫 (𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟕)

This has been my favorite comfort bossa nova album for the past year from a male artist. It calms and soothes me and help a lot with my insomniac nights. Toco’s timbre and gentle enunciation exude an energy so identical to classic bossa nova greats in the 60s and 70s that if someone told me this record was made back then I would believe them. The gentle percussion, the female background vocals and some sections of French singing make it stand out to records of the same genre. I wonder if it would have been more appreciated had it been released a few decades earlier?

“Sem em esperar, madrugada chegou
𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐝𝐚𝐰𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬.
Eu vou sorrir, eu vou cantar
𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞, 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠
Sonhar em outras linguas, dançar
𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞,
Pode viver, deixa cair
𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥
Um dia vem de novo o amor
𝐎𝐦𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧“
