When a family is hurting, showing up with love can make a meaningful difference. ❤️

The Neighborhood Christian Center, alongside the Memphis Police Department’s Austin Peay Station, was grateful for the opportunity to bless a family impacted by recent violence in West Memphis. While we cannot take away their pain, we can remind them that they are loved, supported, and not walking through this difficult time alone.

A heartfelt thank-you to Chief Davis and C. Colonel Vikki Shabazz for your compassion, partnership, and commitment to serving families in need.

Please keep this family in your prayers as they navigate the days ahead. May they find comfort, strength, and hope in God’s love and in the community surrounding them. 🙏❤️

Thank you @memphispolicedept for this community partner award! My passion @alliancehs901 is to continue to divert adults and children with mental illness and trauma from incarceration into immediate treatment! Thank you @pastordianneyoung @pastorjameskirkwood for the work you do with the faith community! I am honored to know you both ❤️ I appreciate the work Chief Davis and Mayor Young do together for the @citymemphis that I love. If we all work together and focus on the positive, we can lift up our community.

#Memphis, #TN: 28y/o David was last seen on May 29, in Olive Branch, Mississippi, where he had been working a construction job, wearing a blue t-shirt with white stripes on the back and black jeans. He stopped at a gas station around 7pm to put gas in his white 2004 Saturn L300 and charge his phone. He was heading toward Freeman Spur, Illinois, to visit his father. Sometime later, his car was found abandoned with a flat tire near a cornfield near Ferguson Street in Lonoke County, Arkansas.

Have you seen him?

For the past three years, students involved with Project STAND in Memphis, Tennessee, have joined Restore Corps for their Red Sand Project activations. This year, after participating in July, the students decided to organize and bring Red Sand Project to their own school! 🙌

On September 11, @mscsprojectstand and Memphis-Shelby County Schools brought together all 11th grade students at George Washington Carver High School to raise awareness about human trafficking, make visible those who fall through the cracks, and explore how we can all play a role in preventing exploitation.

@restore_corps joined them, alongside speakers from the Memphis Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, One More Child, and the Tennessee Department of Health’s SPARK Program.

Project STAND is a mentorship program supporting young people involved in the juvenile justice system and their families through relationships, education, and opportunities for growth.

What began with students participating in an activation has grown into students creating space for their peers to learn, connect, and take action, too. It’s exactly the kind of ripple effect we hope Red Sand Project inspires. ❤️

So much gratitude to these students, Project STAND, Restore Corps, and everyone who helped make this possible!

From East Memphis to Cordova, Downtown, and neighborhoods across Shelby County, Mayor @mklowery spent National Night Out on the move—going neighborhood to neighborhood to connect with the people who make our community what it is.

Throughout the evening, Mayor Lowery did more than speak with residents and community leaders. He took the time to fellowship, share stories, laugh, listen, and build meaningful relationships with neighbors across Shelby County.

That’s what National Night Out is all about: bringing neighbors and local leaders together, strengthening relationships, building trust, and creating a stronger sense of community. It’s a reminder that safer, stronger neighborhoods start with connection—and that every conversation, every introduction, and every shared moment helps bring us closer together.

From one neighborhood to the next, National Night Out was a celebration of community, partnership, and the people who call Shelby County home.

THANK YOU, CORDOVA! ❤️

For making our first National Night Out such a successful and memorable evening!

A huge thank you to Berry Hill Farms HOA for hosting this event, and to all of the vendors who came out and helped make the night special. It was amazing seeing families, kids, and so many smiling faces throughout the evening.

Thank you to our first responders and law enforcement for being there, serving our community, and helping keep our families safe.

We truly love being able to continue bringing events like this to our community. Thank you to everyone who came out, supported our vendors, and spent the evening with us.

We’re grateful to the Memphis Metropolitan Association of Chiefs of Police for inviting Restore Corps Co-Founder and CEO, Rachel Haaga, to speak at their September meeting.

Partnership with law enforcement is and has always been an important part of our work. We see firsthand how complex exploitation can be, especially in situations where someone may be both experiencing victimization and involved in offending behavior.

These intersections require a deeper understanding of trauma and the many ways people can be impacted. We appreciate MMACP for creating space for these conversations and for their continued partnership in serving our community.
