The past few weeks have brought up lots of gratitude for me. Whether I am holding space with gifted friends, cuddling epic DJs or casting my mind back to beautiful adventures in Snowdonia; I am so grateful to finally have so much Love and support in my Life.

It's been a long road to self-acceptance, healing is a spiral. Here's to another 30 years of doing the work!

A potent weekend of men’s “carpet work” facilitation training with @menspedition.

The depth of experience and learning was immense.

I want to extend a massive thank you to Avery @zak_avery and the other Lawrence (!) @lbjoye for the warm welcome into your great community to access this training.

A specific shout-out 👌🏽🙌 to @laurencehjohns for having my back, being in my corner, and for leading the way in such an authentic, Laurence-shaped way. I value your mentorship and all those years of experience.

The journey continues, but first, a good night’s sleep before heading home to Scotland.

It’s time now for me to create opportunities for men in Edinburgh who need support to build on their capabilities and strengthen areas of weakness in their relationships to have an Andy-shaped person in their corners.

It’s our time. ⚔️

It’s been a while since I’ve hosted a retreat, but I’m excited to meet some edges step back into a few this summer, both taking place in the mountains of Wales.

This will be the first time I facilitate with my Partner, Megan - a wild week of exploring your place in this great family of things, recognising the innate longing for connection that burns in the heart of each being. Holding the questions;

- Who am I?
- Where am I?
- Why am I?
- When am I?
- Where are we going?
- What can we do?

Join us as we curiously ask what it means to be in right relationship with our bodies, each other, the land, and this great mystery - Eco Psychology, Communtiy, Mountain hikes and wood-burning hot-tubs await you!

A pilgrimage, a rites of passage, a journey both inward and onward, and a crusade into the depths and magnificence of our collective and individual masculinity.

We create a space to truly galvanise what it really means to be a man, to question the masculine persona that modern western society projects onto us and embeds so deeply into our psyche, and that our personal situations and circumstances have further perpetuated, to reconsider how we treat one another, how we treat women and how we treat ourselves.

🌲 Cae Mabon is an exquisite space in the foothills of the Snowdonia Mountains, on the edge of a great lake, with a Celtic Roundhouse at its heart, home to many convivial evenings of fireside story and song. This picture was taken 2000+ meters up in the Atlas Mountains back in 24.

I see this time as a grateful "purge"

After i came back, everyone said "you've changed" in the type of way that I could tell they didn't like.

I've never felt like i belong, an outsider, an imposter.

Yes, I felt probably more than ever like this while I was with these men, but I now see it as "my great purge"

I left a lot of the old me up there, it's as close to "40 day's and 40 night's in the wilderness experience" as I could ever have.

I faced myself, I struggled with what I saw, I forgave, I learnt, and I loved.

I'm in hardly any of the footage.

(Deep spiritual bit here)

That's because I was walking as my shadow.

I'm forever grateful for this "confrontation I had with myself"

It's taken me more than a year to process what happened up there in that ancient place.

Mens Mental Health awareness month is June > A time to bring awareness to the challenges that don't often get spoken about, that men keep within.

This work is a every day job; to notice, to listen and to share, to support the brothers, friends, partners, fathers and sons in our life.

In a world where male friendships are on the decline, we’re holding the fort, finding nourishment in the simplicity of good food, conversation, and, in this instance, shared activity.

These photos were captured on a recent trip to Portugal with a group of friends from Bristol. We formed a men’s group after being on a @menspedition retreat together and have managed to meet monthly for over a year now.

Let loose at @thehidept we spent a weekend playing with power-tools, getting wet and muddy, feasting together and generally having a super nourishing wholesome time.

Thanks to @seandelahay for the photos and @happyrosso for the excellent hosting, and to @barefeet_living for the comfort with which you wielded the chainsaw.

Long may the good times flow.

I’ve struggled with feeling alone, unsure of myself. Feeling like I’m drifting without a clear sense of purpose. Does any of that resonate with you?

Alongside my PT work I work on men’s retreats. Men’s work has changed my life for the better, giving me a sense of meaning, direction, and brotherhood.

Not in a cheesy modern over-dooing-it kind of way, but genuine friendship that feels deep, lasting, and supportive.
Men’s work changed that.

I feel I have a deeper sense of who I am and what I’m here to do. My local men’s group supported me in taking the step towards personal training (for eg.)

🔥 I'm very stoked and excited to be invited back to the kitchen to collaborate with @menspedition at @henbant_permaculture on this awesome spring wellness immersion day for men on April 12th. 📢

As well as rattling the pots and pans in the kitchen, I will also be facilitating parts of this day alongside @lbjoye . We will be exploring springtime and what that means for us and those close to us.

There will also be an exploration of where we are in our lives right now, what is ahead of us and what is now behind us. What steps are necessary to move in the direction we want? 🤔

In the sauna we will be inviting connecting discussion as our pores open and we sweat out our stuff, our hearts can open and we can let our words flow.

Of course, throughout the day, there will be fire cooked feasts for lunch and for dinner made with locally sourced produce, and tea and home a cake on tap, all created lovingly by yours truly. 🫖 🥮
