I've been slow on posting this as, while I'm home now, the world feels different without her, and I'm still processing how much. My mother, Shivalini Sunthankar, 82, died on March 1st; it was her birthday (Leap Year baby), and we're grateful we could surround her with people who made her smile and laugh before she passed peacefully that evening.

The months before her passing were a roller coaster in hospitalization, which I'm glad she's not experiencing anymore. But I miss her warmth and wisdom, how much she wanted to hold my hand these last weeks, and of course her tremendous talent in the kitchen as her love language (to this day, I don’t think anyone knows our curries the way she did). I had the privilege of writing her obituary, and as always, her story fills me with such admiration, awe, and love for her grit as an accomplished immigrant woman and leader in our community growing up, and of course also with such inferiority that makes me wonder how anyone of our generation could imagine doing as much in our lifetimes. She kicked my ass, no doubt. But I miss her inspiration, and her firm belief in me.

So much love for this tiny but mighty crew putting together our sizzle video for my feature project "Generation Loss." Big thanks to everyone for getting everything in the can wth us, and making it fun while doing it! Special shout out to @desertislandstudiospdx and @galaxy_sailor for your generous help in getting this done, and to @regionalarts for making this possible!

Good afternoon for Tarantino's KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR. Some odd choices in there, but overall really fun experience, worth checking out, and loved it in 70mm on the big screen! Found myself really enjoying the cinematic ride, and not missing stuff cut out. But expect a line around the block, if ya wanna see it! Thanks @seee_beee for getting out there ahead of us in the rain today!!

Day twenty-seven of Hot People Awareness Month.

1) Co-hosted a very wholesome, family-friendly round of bingo with @briezeee at @migrationbrewing. We either had a ton of fun or trauma-bonded. Probably both.

2) Swung by @brassworksgallery to pick up a packet for their upcoming postcards show, after a recommendation from @bananaghram.

2.5) Took a very important call from underground thanks to this piece by @emalani_artiss.

3) Representation matters, and I felt seen by this moment on the season two premiere of Peacemaker.

4) Got Hakuna Matata and convinced @aimeecomedy to drive to Vancouver to see The Naked Gun with me.

5) Art that I saw that wasn’t in a gallery.

6) A lazy girl who wants to go on a walk, but she’s being stubborn about her laziness.

7) It’s possible that I may be TOO efficient at calling bingo numbers, so @andiemain needs to come back to do silly voices and tell stories in the middle of a game.

8) Some very cool art by @alexkuno!

9) Step-puppy.

10) I was trying to make it look like I was touching the top of the straw, and as you can see, I really nailed the assignment.

11) A chill ass bird.

12) Once again, I felt extremely seen by the season two premiere of Peacemaker.

13) We had the entire theater to ourselves. Before Aimee got there, I was doing interpretative dances to the pre-show advertisements.

14) More cool art by @mentalben69! These were honestly some of my favorite pieces in the gallery.

15) I can’t believe Charles Schulz wrote this!
