"In the Stillness of the Morning"
Spent last week with a friend and surrounded by the beauty of Lake Tahoe. John Muir called the Sierras "the range of light". In this in-between time that brackets the end of summer vacations and the not-yet start of winter snow sports, the trails were quiet and we easily found corners of solitude.

Playing on a @merakinstruments c minor.

Pay attention to what is capturing your attention.

The hooks aren’t always fear or outrage. Sometimes they’re a catchy song, a strange story, or something you can’t stop watching. Something can feel captivating and still leave you empty.

Ask what you’re connecting with. Is there lived experience behind it? An honest expression? Something that deepens your understanding, or just another reason to stay in the loop?

Distraction can be intentional. You don’t have to know someone’s entire agenda to recognize when your attention is being pulled and held.

See the hook. Pause. Break the spell.

Then look beyond what keeps filling your screen. What decisions are being made? What deserves scrutiny? What is happening in the world while your attention is occupied?

Your attention matters. Reclaim it.

Also this was a dope jam that just came from these anointed hands🔥🛸🔥

Our first event: AMBIENT, was so, so beautiful. It went even better than we imagined and people really felt safe and comfortable to just BE.

We played a variety of instrument combinations (+ voice) and I also got the play a little handpan concert (mic'd for the first time) toward the end of the night 🛸✨🌟

Here's a little segment of the handpan concert 👽

Watch this space for more: AMBIENT ❤
