Thanks to all who joined our afternoon of walk (& talk) actions at @artbiesenthal @wehrmuehle.

@theserendipist led us into the magical forest, where she shared 3 gifts. 2 skills: the medicinal values of Plantain and how to blow on whistle caps. And 1 spell: our very own sigils!

We picnicked and heard from @anatoly.shabalin.k and @nady.mirian on their practices involving hands, part of @_kolchina_’s art direction of the day.

Finally, we soft launched @walkingquestions by @helenaospinaa new t-shirts, that invite us to take a question on a walk. More on these soon!

SLEEK Art Space: Thomas Kretschmann zeigt „short stories"

Im Rahmen der Berlin Art Week haben wir die Ausstellung „short stories" von Thomas Kretschmann eröffnet.

Bekannt als Schauspieler aus „Der Pianist", „Walküre" und zuletzt „Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" – fotografiert Thomas Kretschmann seit Jahren parallel zu seiner Filmkarriere, meist zwischen Los Angeles und Berlin.

Seine Bilder entstehen nicht als Inszenierung, sondern im Moment:

„Ich fotografiere nicht, weil ich muss, sondern weil ich neugierig bin. Ich sehe etwas und halte einen Moment fest, der eine Geschichte erzählt."

Vor Ort sprach Thomas Kretschmann selbst über seine Arbeitsweise und den Entstehungsprozess der gezeigten Werke.

154-NY exhibiting artist Dana Robinson featured in SLEEK and in conversation with Nisha Merit.

Nisha Merit:
What is your upcoming exhibition at 1–54 about?

Dana Robinson: I created a series of full-body portraits from advertisements, focusing on how Black excellence manifests – what it means and whether it even exists, or if it’s a construct shaped by white supremacist patriarchal culture. I think the idea of excellence can feel like a trap – like perfection, which isn’t really attainable. It’s defined differently by different people, so it’s elusive. To me, Black excellence might simply be people being themselves and feeling free. That’s not perfection, but self-possession. It’s powerful and allows more freedom when we realise there’s no fixed definition.

The Listening Lunch - In Minor Keys, Venice

A few moments from our listening lunch.

More than a gathering, it was a moment to pause together; to listen, remember, and reflect on the generosity, vision, and spirit that Koyo Kouoh brought into the world around her.

At space Un, we continue to think deeply about what it means to create spaces for dialogue, encounter, and presence. Through the artists we support, the conversations we hold, and the communities we bring together, we hope in our own way to carry part of her legacy forward.

Thank you to everyone who shared this moment with us.

リスニングランチのひとときより。

それは単なる集まりではなく、ともに立ち止まり、耳を傾け、Koyo Kouoh が私たちの周りの世界にもたらした寛大さ、ビジョン、そして精神について思いを巡らせる時間となりました。

space Unでは、対話や出会い、そして「共に在ること」のための空間をつくることについて、これからも大切に考え続けていきたいと思っています。私たちが支えるアーティストや交わされる会話、そして生まれるコミュニティを通して、彼女のレガシーの一端を、私たちなりに未来へつないでいけたらと願っています。
