October is #DomesticAbuseAwarenessMonth and we're sharing Jemma's story to help raise awareness of the realities of domestic abuse and help people recognise behaviours that may otherwise be overlooked, minimised or explained away.

Jemma is a victim-survivor of coercive control and now runs domestic abuse charity @phoenixhealingcic 💜

Coercive and controlling behaviour can be difficult to identify, but it is often at the heart of domestic abuse and can have a devastating impact on those experiencing it.

By speaking openly about her experiences, Jemma is helping to shine a light on the warning signs and red flags of Domestic Abuse, encouraging others to recognise unhealthy behaviours, seek support and know that they are not alone 🤝

📍Listen to part of Jemma's story to learn more about the red flags of domestic abuse. To watch the full video, get information, advice or support for yourself or someone you care about, visit www.merseyside.police.uk/vawg and select the ‘Domestic abuse red flags’ page.

We are SO proud of the young Balance community we are building 🥹

It’s so much more than just a class. We want to create a space where young girls feel safe, supported, confident and most importantly, have the chance to learn what a healthy, balanced lifestyle really looks like.

Being able to collaborate with other amazing people and businesses means we can keep expanding the knowledge and experiences we offer our young people, giving them even more opportunities to learn, grow and try new things.

Building a healthy relationship with movement from a young age is SO important. We give them the confidence, knowledge and tools to carry this mindset with them long after they leave their teenage years. 🤍

A huge thank you our incredible funders for allowing us to make events like this FREE for our young people. Your support means we can continue creating spaces like this and making movement accessible to them. 🫶🏽✨

This is only the beginning of our Balance Kid & Teens community… 🥹🤍
