We have pulled together toys from every corner of the spectrum! We are open Tuesday-Thursday 11am-6pm, Friday 3pm-8pm and Saturday from Noon-8pm! We buy, sell and trade vintage toys! Saturday is the best day to bring in toys to sell because all of the owners are in the shop! The store is also covered in artwork from incredible local artists and even some from far away who will all be tagged in this post so be sure to check em out! We are so stoked to be a part of such an amazing community here in Reno and meet so many new friends and collectors! If you’re ever in Reno come check us out and get weird!!!

Hey folks, I want to announce that I’m having a solo art show at @chromecoffeeworks and the opening nite will be a blast. May 9th. A bit about the art show and me: I’m Derek, I own Golden West Signs and I currently reside in the Mojave Desert right up against Joshua Tree National Park. I’ve been fooling around with hand painted signs for 20 years now and still loving it. The point of this show is to bring to life some signs and art that are a reflection of what has influenced me. Growing up in a small rural town in Nevada and getting to go to Reno on special occasions, one day you’re in an old silver mining town on a steam train and the next day you’re staring up at a 100 foot tall neon clown holding a spinning lollipop sign. It’s all seeped into my subconscious and has greatly influenced my sign design…mid century’s take on Wild West, roadside Americana, drinking sarsaparilla in Virginia City Nevada, giant neon cowboys, liquor store signs, $1.99 casino breakfasts. I love a good themed environment so much I even ended up working as a sign painter at Disneyland for a few years! So this will be a fun bunch of work that nobody asked for but I feel should exist in the world haha! Come have some fun. This ain’t no highbrow art show!

Last month I embarked on an adventure with my friend @metaljeff.photo @metaljeff to take some photos around Reno and today he sent me the developed shots and they are SO rad!!! Both Jeff’s photography and drawing skills are mind blowing!!! So stoked we ended up at a couple cemeteries because growing up through every stage of my life cemeteries have been one of my favorite places to wander around to gain inspiration! Did you know that I was a grave digger and cemetery care taker when I was a teenager?? Now ya do! Haha. Scroll through all of these shots and let us know which is your favorite!! Can’t wait for more collaborative projects with Jeff!!! Thanks for the fun adventure dude!!! Get weird, shake yer buttcheeks and HAVE FUN DAMNIT!!! Life is completely awesome so don’t take a single day or opportunity for granted!!! Defenders Of Good Times for life!!!
