What does a decade of rocketry coding look like when you turn it into a graph? This is RocketPy 🚀

Every dot? A file, a class, a function, or a test.
Every line? A call, an import, or an inheritance.

Together, they form the full knowledge graph of the entire codebase.

Inside that graph:
🔹 7 propulsion models — solid, liquid, hybrid, cluster and more
🔹 15+ real atmospheric sources — Meteomatics, GFS, ERA5, Open-Meteo
🔹 Full 6-DOF flight dynamics with quaternion attitude
🔹 500+ tests, validated against real flight telemetry from Calisto (@projetojupiter), Prometheus (@werocketry), Bella Lui (@epflrocketteam), Camões (@aerotec.red) and more.
🔹 Monte Carlo, sensitivity analysis, and realistic sensor noise models…

This isn’t a weekend project.

The visualization was generated with code-review-graph, an open-source tool by (tirth8205 on GitHub) that turns any codebase into a navigable universe. Huge thanks to him for building it. 🙌

☁️🌥️ DAY 7 | SPRINGBOK → CLANWILLIAM

A cloudy morning in Springbok as we get ready to hit the road again! 🚗☀️

Today’s journey takes us from Springbok to Clanwilliam, with a controlled stop at Vanrhynsdorp.

While the skies may be covered in clouds this morning, preparation remains key. 🌦️

A big thank you to @meteomatics for providing our team with online access to weather forecast data, helping us stay informed about the conditions ahead as we navigate this incredible journey.

Every contribution helps us keep moving forward. 🙌

The RocketPy Team was once again in Iacanga, Brazil, for the (Latin American) Space Challenge. This year, the event was powered by @meteomatics, enabling the use of more precise atmospheric data in environmental analyses, thereby increasing safety levels in high-power rocket operations and enhancing the ability to predict landing zones for recovery purposes. Our team, composed of four members, joined the @lascspace volunteer team and collaborated on 59 launch operations, a record number compared to previous years. It is worth noting that all these operations were carried out with rockets whose engines were SRAD, meaning they were fully developed by the students themselves. In total, we had over 2,000 participants and spectators from more than 10 different countries, highlighting the global character of the largest rocket and satellite engineering competition in the Southern Hemisphere. We thank LASC and Meteomatics for their fundamental support in the use of atmospheric data. #rocket #engineering #space

Beyond the Stars ✨🪐

🚀 We’re thrilled to officially announce our partnership with Meteomatics at LASC 2026!

The Latin American Space Challenge (September 2–5, 2026) just got a major upgrade. For the first time, high-definition weather intelligence from Meteomatics, The Global Leader in Weather Intelligence, will be integrated into RocketPy’s operations at the Mission Control Center (MCC) in Iacanga, Brazil.

🌦️ About Meteomatics

Meteomatics provides the most accurate weather data for any location at any time, trusted by over 600 companies worldwide including Tesla, NASA and Airbus. Now, this same technology is coming to LASC.

Why does this matter?

📍 The Challenge: Iacanga is surrounded by sugarcane fields and experiences its windiest month in September (avg. 20.3 km/h). These conditions, combined with the region’s agricultural landscape, contribute to wind shear and turbulence that can affect rocket trajectories, apogee and recovery.

🌦️ The Solution: Meteomatics’ API delivers hyper-local atmospheric data (wind profiles, pressure, temperature, density) injected directly into RocketPy’s Environment class. Real-time data for that exact minute and coordinate.

💡 The Impact:

- Real-time trajectory adjustments minutes before ignition.
- Accurate Monte Carlo dispersion simulations for safety coordination with Brazilian authorities.
- Precise parachute drift predictions, reducing recovery search areas in sugarcane fields.

A huge thank you to @meteomatics ! We can’t wait to see this integration in action!

📅 LASC 2026: September 2–5, Iacanga, Brazil.

90 days to EuRoC !

We are beyond excited to announce that we are once again partnering with @meteomatics for this year’s competitions. Their high-resolution weather data will be the backbone of our flight simulations, giving teams the precision and accuracy they need to ensure safe and successful launches.

But that’s not all! We’re also thrilled to share that we are expanding our reach across the Atlantic to the Latin American Space Challenge (LASC) 2026. More details are coming very soon, stay tuned!

What about you? Are you competing at EuRoC or LASC this year?! 🚀🚀
