Today’s episode of Sounds of Survivance is now available. Five episodes in and I think I’ve finally found a bit of a groove. I really enjoyed this morning’s set and especially appreciated everyone who texted and sent messages throughout the show. This morning’s playlist includes music from Casual Healing, STUBBORN, Des Cannings, DJ PGZ, In’yoni, BADTAB, Thunder Hill, CHXMERAS, OLEXA, and more. Listen anytime over the next two weeks at kexp.org/indigenous. Link is also in my bio. Thanks for listening. Have a great weekend!

✨ What a night. Ipswich Art Gallery came alive with experimental sound, movement and performance as MONO x IAG transformed our gallery spaces and building surrounds on Saturday 11 July. Presented with the Institute of Modern Art and curated by Lawrence English @room40shoots, the program featured an incredible lineup of international and national artists who invited audiences to experience the gallery in entirely new ways. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this unforgettable evening as part of Spark Festival 2026! @ipswichfestivals Swipe through some highlights from the night. 📸 Greg Harm

"Country/The County is the first of our (J.WLSN and Liam Keenan) combined love of all things longform, expansive, distorted and it is filled with reverberations. built on subtle guitars, modular synth pads and sample-based loops, the record is us exploring our experience growing up in similar regional and rural settings. the music represents parts of the country in western sydney and further west in regional NSW in Australia where we both grew up across different periods of time. these places are drifting plains, scowling mountains and at times, simply, rolling suburbia. the music is a score of sorts for these meshing places, a way of us decoding these shared geographies, outside of time. you could almost say, it’s a music of place, out of time." Dear friends of ours @_j.wlsn_ & @meteor_infant are launching their debut LP “Country/The Country” live this Saturday night in Sydney. If you’re a fan of the likes of Kali Malone or Stars Of The Lid you’ll really dig the instrumental goodness they’ve been cooking up together. Joining them on the bill is Seaworthy and Matt Rosner. What a combo! Sat July 18 | Doors: 6:30pm | Entry by donation | 21 Shepherd St Marrickville. “County/The Country” is out July 17 via Room40 Records. Highly recommend checking it out! - Tim
