“Look Who’s Back From Their Trip” Cosmic Trip originally debuted as a one-night only tea for a special Steve Gunn show at SkySpace last October. The event was destined to be hypnotic and colorful, so I made a blend as such. Inspired by Steve’s transcendental guitar work and the ambience of Skyspace, the blend came out as my most “far out” to date. The label had no art or color, instead @little_diddy projected visuals onto a (mostly) blank tin for the promotion video. Mimicking the SkySpace experience, A. Shea placed moving clouds in the center while changing colors for the rest of the label. However, since Cosmic Trip didn’t have art on the label it hasn’t been on the website… until now! My acupuncturist, Michael Keane, a/k/a @metisman recently released a batch of vibrant, explosive psych-art. One piece in particular, “Nope,” fit the vibe of Cosmic Trip to a T. Been wanting to showcase Mike’s art for a while now and am delighted to do so in welcoming back Cosmic Trip! BTW, Steve Gunn (@stevegunnstevegunn) just dropped a new album of sweet sounds, “The Unseen Inbetween.” Check it out and see him live next Saturday, 2/2, at Union Transfer! #cosmic #trip #cosmictrip #spacey #dreamy #colorful #space #sky #psychedelicart #acupuncturist #stevegunn #skyspace #jamesturrell #philly #phillyartist #brooklyn #mtairy #madeinmtairy #madeinphilly #phillyartists #farout #transcedental
